So Jujutsu Kaisen is ending soon... aka this year probably

Shonen Jump really about to struggle with all these big titles ending
>>
>>269931987
Jump doesn't care if JJK will end. They've gotten much better shonen as time goes by.
>>
who cares
>>
>>269932021
everything they've got is absolute shit and slop
>>
This post is a Twitter repost btw, its from some dude named chibireviews. Saw it while scouring for BB Dubai porn

Such as?
>>

No way they wont force a sequel
>>
>>269933145
>Byuji - Jujutsu Kaisen Next Generations
Kino is back on the menu
>>
>>269931987
All they need is One Piece to go on for another 500 years
>>
>>269933237
That won't be hard, they could have one of Oda's assistants write a spin-off gag series called Two Piece that's about one of the straw hat crew's (not Luffy's) child searching for a Legendary treasure that turns out to be a swimsuit while they work on severing Oda's head to put it in a jar, Futurama-style and make a manga writing robot so that the demand for a serious sequel can be met in the subsequent Three Piece series that the Odabot will write under an alias so as to not reveal the ethical crimes they've committed in order to do so.

Any anime normalfags love, i will likely hate. This has held true for decades

Being a contrarian is not a personality.
>>

As if Jump cares about anything but money. JJK is top 1 in manga volume sales this year.
>>
>>269934050
Having a taste which happens to be polar opposite of normalfags is neither, but that's what I'm suffering from
>>
>>269932021
>better shonen
Its not that hard considering JJK is at the bottom of the barrel. If it wasnt for the normie invasion on anime culture it would have been axed sooner
>>
One Piece and Kagurabachi can handle the heavy lifting.

A third member of the big three will soon reveal itself. Since One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto, there have always been the big three.
>>
>>269931987
We've trough this cycle many times before.
>>
>>269934086
At least people like me have friends to discuss popular anime, while you only get to discuss your pedophilic moeshit in a anonymous imageboard because any normal person would be disgusted by you lmao.

Honestly the days of shonen titans is probably over. There will never be anything like a One Piece, Dragonball, or Naruto ever again.
Jujutsu kaisen doesn't hold a fucking candle to any of the legends and there is no single author form the new generation that can create anything that has that significant of a cultural impact

Maybe Aot and Isayama, but id argue Aot is more of a seinen than a shonen

Its time to close the book on manga I think. Its fucking cooked and done.
>>
Can't wait for JJK to end and everyone to pretend they hated it all along

>>
>>269934238
I mostly agree especially when we're talking about cultural impacts of anime and manga, more or less. I think JJK is pretty damn influential though, I see this shit everywhere. Super memeable. I think it's sorta dropped the ball though. I almost feel like gege is just rushing through a bunch of ideas to finish the series. It kind of had a cool spirit detective thing going on at first and like always turns into a battle shonen at the end kek. Surprised we didn't have more of a real tourney arc.
>>
>>269934382
Maybe if you're lucky before you die one day you'll see a Shonen as good as OP.
>>
>>269934161
What do you think the new series will be about? I hope it has a cyberpunk setting.
>>
>>269931987
yeah it's ending to make way to the next big shounen: ruri dragon
>>
>>269934441
>I think JJK is pretty damn influential though
Ask a mom if they know what the fuck a jujutsu kaisen is and that ask her if she knows what a Dragonball is.

There's a whole universe of difference between global and regional influence
>>
>>269934462
one piece became literal goyslop after marineford. most following is from pure sunk cost at this point.
>>
>>269934238
>Maybe Aot and Isayama, but id argue Aot is more of a seinen than a shonen
I don't really care for marketing labels. AoT's author first tried to serialize the series in a shonen magazine, and serie like Berserk or Vinland aren't more mature than, say, Death Note.
>>
>>269934577
It's only gained popularity since 2019. Egg Head has the best reception since Marienford. Go ahead and off yourself my dude.
>>
>>269934557
idk, zoomers have gone pretty crazy about jjk but I do see your point either way. I think that's sometimes a hard comparison though because anime is way different now than it was when i was a kid. Toonami every day at 6 or whatever vs now it all being online. i guess this might be part of the argument, but I think it's more that anime and manga in itself as a consumer hobby in the west overly marketed seems to be over? It might be a sign of the medium maturing a bit.

That's really fuckin dumb, these two series aren't from the same generation. Maybe you should ask a mom about it in ten years instead of now, that's a better comparison. My mom used to binge watch Dragon Ball and other anime in the late 90s and early 2000s with my siblings and I when I was too young to remember the episodes, so I'm biased when saying this though. Now she wonders why I'm into anime and manga, pot meet the kettle black.

That you for making me laugh.
Good.
Those shows are shit. The only good thing about them are parodies.
>>
>>269934238
You just don't go out of your home often enough to see kids shouting
>domain expansion
at each other. JJK and KnY both left a real cultural impact which is silly to deny. And they got popular even overshadowing One Piece in sales at times.

It's MHA that didn't cross it into the legends tier. It was shaping up to be huge, but sorta fizzled out after early All Might climax.
>>
>>269934238
>Its time to close the book on manga I think. Its fucking cooked and done.
Absolute smoothbrained opinion. It's precisely because manga has such a healthy variety *and* widespread access outside of Japan that everything is no longer concentrated into a handful of series that dwarf everything else. It might not be great for WSJ specifically, but it's good for the medium as a whole to not be dominated by a select group of titles from one magazine. The alternative is the depressing state of western comics, manhwa and manhua.
>>
>>269936406
Shouting domain expansion is about as impactful as twerking was.
>>
>>269936427
>everything is no longer concentrated into a handful of series that dwarf everything else
This was never the case except in the heads of western kids. When One Piece, Naruto and Bleach were in their prime, there were plenty other leviathans in the sea like FMA or Nana.
>>
>>269931987
Nobody cares. People will move on to newer shonen like Kagurabachi, GALAXIAS, Gachiakuta, Frieren, etc.
Jump doesn't care about you, and you shouldn't too.

Since JJK is ending soon. What's the next shonen manga would anons here suggest? I'm looking toward Kagurabachi, i'm catching up to cp.6 right now but there is nothing much going on.
>>
Where did this idea that One Piece was some super popular show alongside Naruto and Bleach come from? Nobody talked about OP the way they talked about those two. It was all Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, Haruhi and Inuyasha. Fucking Gaia Online didn't even have One Piece parody items. Was it popular in third world countries or something?
>>

My cuckold hero academy
>>
>>269936783
US manga and anime market was small until 2010s and is still smaller than France or China. So something being big with burgers means nothing on global scale.
>>
>>269936783
>Nobody talked about OP the way they talked about those two. It was all Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, Haruhi and Inuyasha.
They did, just not in America because it never got big there until recently. One Piece was always popular in Europe. It was not quite as big as Dragonball and Naruto until recently but it was always big and it's only goingto get bigger with the remake making it more accessible.
>>

>Jujutsu Kaisen is ending soon
[Good news].
>>
>>269936771
Read Gachiakuta, Sakamoto Days, Kaijin Fugeki for adhd people fight
Read Frieren, galaxias, bugle call for slown snorefest battle shonen.
Also, keep reading KGB from ch.6 forward. You're gonna enter the first best arc.
>>
>>269936783
>Was it popular in third world countries or something?
Easter euro here, no one cared about one piece. They played dragon ball, naruto (cable only if I remember correctly) and bleach on tv
>>
>>269934557
ask a mom what the fuck one piece is and you get the same result
>>
>>269936842
One piece got shafted hard by being on 4kids. If anyone was watching anime on tv it was on Toonami.

Lost MHA only days ago
>Will be losing Jujutsu Kaisen very soon
Damn, so this time it really is over for WSJ like people have been predicting the past few months/years. They'll only have One Piece left. This is going to be their big decline era. They could have had a new big hitter with Sakamoto Day's but they gave the anime to a shitty no-name studio like TMS. It will never become the next big thing with mediocre animation. It's over for them unless memegurabachi can carry them (it won't)
>>
>>269936783
One Piece is the Soccer of anime and Manga. Popular everywhere except Burger Land
>>
>>269937062
You can thank toei and 4kids for that
Even Oda backstabbed Toei because he was seething at all those new mangas getting a popular anime
>>
>>269937053
They really are going to need that mha2 and jjk2. Even csm had a part 2 when it didn't need it, with the others you have the kids powers as an excuse
>>
>>269936771
Read Undead Unluck. It's good.
>>
>>269937062
Luffy would enjoy burgers and burger culture.
>>
>>269937136
Good luck getting Gege to make a JJK2. He tapped out a long time ago and wants to make that battle idol manga asap.
>>
>>269937053
Sakamoto Days won't carry anything. It's in a constant state of decline to be sub 100k. Only TES and Kagurabachi has seen a growth these past few months.
