Tamayura turns 24! This is a series that is very important to me. The first time I watched the final movies absolutely destroyed me and even now, I wouldn't be able to watch them spontaneously without some heavy emotional damage.What highlights do you remember and who's your favorite character? >>270750452The scene that stood out the most to me was right towards the end, I believe in the last film, where there's a flashback to Fuu finding out that her father has died. The camera moves up to show her almost howling in grief, and it is unbelievably raw and visceral. It reminded me of the famous painting of Ivan the Terrible cradling the son he has just murdered. I remember being absolutely amazed that such a brutal and complex thing was so effectively conveyed in such a simple and cute art style. To me, it was a masterwork of the animator's craft, and I've seen very few comparable things in my time.

Well I still can't believe this is happening, but I think it's fair to say this thread is in its final phase one way or the other. So how about a summary of what you like about the series the most?For me, it's that it's not afraid to acknowledge the bad things in life. The series makes it very clear that life is filled with wonders, but can be pretty miserable at times. You need this acknowledgement for all the happy moments to really shine though. So I'm very impressed with Tamayura there
