I still can't decide how much of the ring of gluttony stuff I should chalk up to first book weirdness and how much might actually come up againlike, as is, Sullivan'a whole plan to have Iruma attend achool would be impossible if he didn't get the ring. Which would imply he knew Delkaros had put some secret enchantment on the hat to spit out the ring of gluttony if a human ever tried to use it. Which would imply Sullivan wasn't just feeling clucky but instead knew of some kind of plan Delkira had in the works for a himan to ve his succesor and bought Iruma specifically to have him be the boy that do the do.
