since we have a thread about formats and shit, I've always an issue on /gif/ where some webm would just not play. I'd get "playback error" or something like that. Maybe the error was "unsupported [something]". I'm actually not sure.Anyway, this is on chrome, which is the main browser I use. But when I open the same webm on firefox, I have no issue, and I can play anything. Anyone has ever dealt with that? In any of these threads on /gif/ there's never anyone complaining about a specific webm not playing. Never. So there has to be people that use chrome there that have no trouble playing the webms. Also I use a mac.

This would be so much more useful if it was possible to do frame-perfect cuts out of x264-encoded anime files without re-encoding. That would make mp4 the new meta on /a/, actually.You can't, though. You can only cut to keyframes without re-encoding. So right now the only real use case for this is short videos posted on social media.
