Berserk 97 is just that with corners cut. It's reputation precedes it as being the only noteworthy adaptation when it's only really a portfolio of the salad days of the Band's golden age.Monster and Hellsing Ultimate are the only viable and good ones on that list. Though Hellsing Ultimate is often marred short for its terrible comedic cutaways which can break the pacing and tonal dissonance of the show. Leaving Monster to be the only viable choice on this list.

Berserk 1997 doesn’t do the golden age justice at all. The eclipse was terrifying and grandiose in the manga, the anime version feels like a low budget cartoon and censors everything
