Law's real target is Doffy, and Doffy can survive with either S.A.D. production or Caesar alive. With the S.A.D. production destroyed, he NEEDS Caesar, see the last page with his inner monologue. Even Doffy is afraid of Kaido, and the last thing an arms dealer should do when they run out of arms is piss off the guy who still wants to buy arms and has historically been stockpiling the rest of your arms, it's bad business if you wanna stay alive. So with Caesar as a bargaining chip, Law can get more damage into Doffy by forcing him to acquiesce.

>>273418225It isn't about just knowing Doffy gets comeuppance, he wants to do it himself AND bridge it into taking down Kaido for his pirate career. He's attempting to coerce Doffy to losing his backups and resources to change the situation. It isn't enough for Doffy to die, Law wants to deliver his revenge for Cora's sake. By leveraging Caesar to offset Kaido, Law planned to deprive Doffy of his WG ties and protections leaving him vulnerable, plus the exchange creates a tactical opening in his empire where the infiltration to destroy the SMILE factory can take place. It's angling for opportunities to dismantle Doffy's whole enterprise while crippling Kaido's at the same time. If he just kills Caesar, he has no bargaining power, no means of stripping Doffy of his WG protection as a warlord, and Doffy would go on the warpath towards him when Law's separated from his main crew and still trying to destroy the factory. Law has a lot of irons in the fire and Caesar dying wouldn't be taking the most advantage of the powerful piece he is.

Law by himself isn't capable of overturning all of Doffy's resources. If he runs away, Law is just creating a scenario where he could be tracked down and Doflamingo can bolster Dressrosa's defenses against both Kaido and Law's alliance. He gains nothing towards his goal by fleeing and leaving Doffy in the lurch and makes his ideals even harder to reach.Law's demands were to abdicate his position as Warlord, thus making his bounty active and not able to draw on WG support. Law is thwarted by this attempt of course because as Vergo says, Law's ignorance of Doffy's past (as a CD) is what dooms him. Doffy can pull strings within the WG that a regular Warlord couldn't and as such, Law gets blindsided by the betrayal. Even then, he still has Caesar as a bargaining chip and STILL managed to draw Doflamingo away from Dressrosa long enough for the infiltration plan to execute and it successfully broke not only the factory but also led to Sugar's downfall. The lengths that Sugar being defeated go towards defeating Doffy, of course, weren't planned, but it was only possible by keeping Doffy away from his HQ.

>>273419161It's not all that grandiose, it's just depriving resources and limiting options to make Doflamingo struggle and weak enough to be taken down. Just normal tactics with a longterm goal so that the individual tactics don't contradict with that goal. The value of Caesar is as a bargaining chip with Doffy. Doffy's resources, as Law can attack them, are the SMILE factory and his WG links as a warlord. Leverage Caesar to remove the latter, and use the meeting to expose the former. All of this cuts off Kaido's resources as well so in the long run, it still works towards that goal.
