Anyone here experienced in storytimes criticize how I've been handling the manga dumps so far and offer advice? The Angolmois storytime wasn't that of a problem but Divci Valka is a stressful work thus far and I'm not sure why.

>>273443623Last bump.
Brave of you to do a storytime during the Shounen slop dumps.
>>273443396>Since we're halfway in the manga, what do you people think about it so far?I'm disappointed in terms of historical detail in the story and art nor am I fond on the characters' personalities, but understand why the mangaka wanted to use the setting (or more accurately, aesthetic) for his own purposes to write loli ryona, so I'm not particularly angry. It's clear he had a goal that just doesn't align with mine when I saw the premise of the story.>Anyone here experienced in storytimes criticize how I've been handling the manga dumps so far and offer advice?Your schedule is too chaotic so it's hard to retain consistent readers. If you really want to storytime these types of manga with four big chapters per volume, just do one chapter per day at a set time. It's impossible to keep track when you post a volume every 3-7 days at a random time, then take long breaks in between.
>>273442158I always wonder why you don't knock the person unconscious, that would certainly be more mercyful.

It's been good so far, though most of the little girls blend together and I'm mostly here for the Jan-Sigismond action. I am quite happy with how they've treated the Kaiser and his subjects, I wasn't expecting to get much of their perspective in this (especially from a Japanese westaboo)I mostly read the daily dumps, so I will say that the length of these volumes is a drawback; it takes you half a quarter of a day to post them and takes me over an hour to read them, which is quite the commitment. Shikataganai, if this is how you want to do it, but it is the issue of getting bumps
bumping so anon can read
>>273445511Can you elaborate more on your critical opinion about the manga compared to other historical manga you've seen? Imo, while the manga is rather blatant about it's fetishes, the story, it's characters and depiction of a history conflict that's niche in the eyes of the mainstream is enough to leave me interested in it. By the way, the author has a Master's Degree in Western History so he's basically a step ahead of other historical manga authors.>>273445511>>273451419>>273459247If that's the case, then starting next Monday I'll be doing it daily then. The reason I've been dumping whole chapters so far.1. On the logic that a daily chapter per week basis will make it die even faster since the manga isn't popular to begin with.2. Months ago. I've seen a thread complain about manga storytime dumps (using Cirque du Freak's daily dumps as an example) and thus I've been discouraged as a result.3. I've also seen other anons giving up on storytime dumps and thought that uploading daily by chapter was the cause.
>>273448981Good to know.
>>273451419It really depends on the response. Dailies can die with 0 replies.
>>273461530i hope it all works out better, if not maybe doing one or two chapters at a regular paceeverything is in God's hands, and you must trust in Him
For me, it's Sara.
>>273443396I think more commentary would help to make it less of just a raw dump. That said, I'm enjoying this manga, so thank you.
>>273435222Why do I hear this mongolian throat singing?
Thanks for the dump
>>273461530>Can you elaborate more on your critical opinion about the manga compared to other historical manga you've seen? My criticism is inherently selfish since I was personally attracted by the uniqueness of a Hussite War manga, but I think its inherent nature as a fetish manga undermines that appeal to the point of being tasteless. I'll give him credit that he actually depicts the HRE's main actors in the Hussite Wars, but whether it's a crude characterisation or based in truth, I'm not one to discern since I've only read from the Hussite POV. My personal red flag was in its depiction of the Battle of Vitkov Hill; the art doesn't do a well-enough job to depict the actual setpiece (its missing the vineyard that concealed the Praguers who were absent altogether, its missing earthworks that the Hussites dug and any sense of it being trodden since the hill is depicted to be fully clean) and it is inaccurately depicted as a chaotic shitshow for the Hussites when it was one of the major victories of the early phases of the war, one that gave the Hussites a massive boost in political power in Prague and led to the fall of the fortresses defending the area. I'd forgive the mangaka for deliberately changing this major event if it was for a meaningful purpose thematically or otherwise, but it was to segue into a scene where Sarka gets beaten and nearly raped by the Crusaders. It's too mired in its vision as "medieval loli child soldier gets raped" to use its historical setting as anything but an aesthetic and I'm not particularly fond of Sarka (nor most of the other girls) to be enticed.>(using Cirque du Freak's daily dumps as an example) That's because that guy was using new threads for each chapter when he already had multiple threads of the previous chapters still active.Have a video of a scene of Against All, which depicts the Battle of Vitkov Hill for your troubles reading my complaining.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlA8TwYpRHM
>>273467433Actually, here's a better version of the same scene.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldk59is4Zjk
>>273467433While you're right about how inaccurate the battle of Vitkov Hill is, I'd disagree with your conclusion that it was depicted as a shitshow for the Hussites.Besides the part where one of the wagon forts got breached and the defenders decided to set themselves on fire to take the crusaders out, the rest of the battle is basically the Crusaders being repeatedly defeated and the battle is portrayed as a stunning victory. It's just that the author decided to go for a 300-style of flair (note how he used the overinflated medieval count of the crusaders army) that basically emphasizes the superiority and innovation of Ziska's tactics and the lack of discipline of the crusaders. It's similar to how 300 omits the fact the Spartans aren't the only fighters.2 It may be part of the author's obvoous fetish but it does allow a proper POV of the Catholic forces to show they aren't one-sided monsters killing heretics just because. I loved how it portrayed Sigismund as a complex character driven by the desire to stop the Ottoman menace and his desire to be a great as Charles V.
>>273436174Reminds me of the Hwacha.
>>273446632Because knocking someone out is very dangerous. You could easily crack their skull or cause internal bleeding. The people of old weren't modern special forces or agents.
