Why do Female Childhood Friends often lose in Romance to inferior women?
>>

Childhood friends are busy fucking. Only loners read manga they are the target audience.

>Why do Female Childhood Friends often lose in Romance to inferior women?
>Answer is literally in the image, spelled out for you
I don't know OP. Why do you think?
>>
>>273453328
They don’t take their chance when they should.

>>273453489
The answer is that the girl didn’t offer herself up, instead she mocked him.
>>
>>273453328
They're boring. Most people don't end up with their childhood friends so less writers make them the one who gets the guy.
>>
Because they end up in the family zone and people don't fuck their family.
>>
When did this retarded narrative start? They win often enough it's not unexpected.
>>
>>273454772
Examples?
>>
>>273453328
To be fair, your CF is probably already close to your entire family, so it's hard to do something a little more daring like starting a relationship knowing there is probably no backing off without lifelong consequences.
>>
It's realistic if anything. Very few people actually want tp fuck someone they know since they are 3 and spent every waking hour of their childhood together. They are practicly family
>>
>>273453328
>childhood friend
that's just somebody that you used to know
>>
>>273453328
I was just reading a manga where the childhood friend is winning (it's not a harem)
>>
>>273456152
>to be fair, your CF is probably already fucking your entire family
Imagine
>>
>CF is close enough to be practically family
>however CF also knows you have massive incest fetish
Total CF victory
>>
>>273455955
I was looking through the past four years to answer your question just to realize how much harems/triangles fell out of favor compared one-on-one relationships stories, some of them are with a childhood friend but I wouldn't count that as a win. And many of the stories that do have a harem/triangle don't even have a childhood friend so this shit is actually harder than it looks.

Most stories develop MC in some way, this change in him will naturally drive him away from the childhood friend and closer to the new girl who's the reason behind his growth, CF can win but for this they must become the one to change MC and this is kinda difficult to justify since there also needs to be a reason why they didn't change them before, for example MC and CF could been separated and one or both of them took a turn for the worse and being reunited is what lead them to get better and grow

Uruaka from Bokuben.
>>
>>273453328
There used to be a brief era in the 80s-90s where childhood friends *always* won despite being inferior, and the genre hard corrected.
>>
>>273453328
subversion of a trope that then in turn became its own trope
>>
>>273453328
If you had a decade of headstart and couldn't make him yours, then you were the inferior girl and he was never going to like you.
>>
>>273453328
Childhood friends used to win by doing nothing, MC just loved them by default and had to save them when in danger, this eventually made people dislike them and the tide turned to the opposite, the new girl that started out hating MC and had an active role in the story, now we're already seeing they tide turn again since tsunderes are perceived as winning by default without doing anything, I doubt we'll se a return the the childhood friend winner but we'll probably see more winners that are either teasers or straight forward about their feelings from early on in the story
>>
>>273457968
But what if she's shy and nervous?
>>
>>273453328
Who the fuck starts a conversation like that?
>>
>>273454577
>They're boring.
no, they're complex and multi-dimensional
>>
>>273460750
>they're complex and multi-dimensional
But enough about tsunderes
>>
>>273460878
They're one-dimensional as fuck
>>
>>273461987
>Tsun
>Dere
That's at least two dimensions
>>
>>273453328
They lose in real life, so maybe it's just the mangaka being realistic. Kids typically grow up being incapable of seeing other people they grew up with as attractive. It's why societies with forced cousin marriages made sure not to raise them together. Not to mention that the vast majority of people don't marry someone their own age.

The only time osananajimi deserve to lose to dorobou neko is when there is an imouto involved with a prior claim or Chitoge.
>>
>>273462418
No its not
>>
>>273457259
>Multiple routes
>Sh-sh-she won
Bokuben is dog shit
>>
>>273465017
No imouto route :(
>>
>>273460733
So... I'm non-binary.
>>
>>273453328
>mocks him about being a virgin on a regular basis
>never offers to help him get rid of it
She has only herself to blame
>>
>>273457113
>Most stories develop MC in some way
Lol
Lmao even
>>
>>273466037
Why should she be the one to offer? Why shouldn’t the guy ask her
>>
>>273466384
Because she's the one that keeps bringing it up?
>>
>>273460733
Close friends, shame they couldn't be a couple.

The authors want to teach readers a lesson - to not be complacent in seeking out romance. But any sort of lesson is wasted on romance and romcom readers.
