The weather outside is getting more and more miserable these last few days (well, at least at my place)... which is great because that's a perfect time to read some comfy manga together! Here starts the daily chapter storytime of Our Precious Conversations (Boku to kimi no taisetsu na hanashi), an excellent manga authored by Robico (known also for My Little Monster), published from 2015 to 2019.Although it is a shōjo manga, don't worry - it's perfectly palatable to male readers, especially fans of SOL/romance series like: You and I are polar opposites, Yugami-kun has no friends, Insomniacs after school, Smoking behind the supermarket just to name a few.So get your Ryan Gosling folders ready (trust me, they will come in handy) and let's go!
The story should've ended here t b hLuckily our protagonist is fucking ghey
Robico draws possibly the cutest girls.
>>273536231True. A pity this is her last work so far...
>>273536064>"Bitch I am trying to read!"
>>273536305I didn't know that. This manga must be getting on 10 years old, if not older. I wonder what she's doing now?
>>273536129>>273536389>If you don't care, why'd you interrupt me while I was reading?Kek, I was joking
>>273536406>I wonder what she's doing now?No idea, I sometimes check her twitter but it's dead since 2023
>>273536466>"You where polka dot socks? Ewww. Never mind"
ohnonononono
>>273536483*wearThis is why you don't day drink kids
I guess this is what some people call a 'woman moment'
>>273536654Is this a fucking foot fetish manga?
>>273535899Seated.>>273536406>>273536466Last thing she worked on was Bakuten, she was the character designer.
And that's it for todayDid you rike it? Have you read it already?I'll appreciate bumping the thread and keeping it thread alive whether you're drunk or sober
I hate that Shoujo is totally dead...
>>273536874make a twitter account and follow shoujo there
>>273536874Honestly this was one of the only good shoujo I ever read. Shoujo seems kind of outdated now, like male demographic delinquent manga. I kind of get the feeling girls read nu-shounen for fun and cute boy(sometime yaoibait) relationships or just read josei because that kind of innocent-but-curious adolescent stage that shoujo once appealed to has vanished and young girls just read 'mature' josei instead, with all the open sex and dirtyness and drama and fucked relationships of the later. Modern tech, media and social media has all but obliterated childhood past the very early onset of puberty.
>>273537760I blame otome LN slop
I remember picking this up and Kaguya Sama at the same time. Goddamn I had so many good romcoms back then. Also, sad about robico not doing any new work after this. Her previous series:Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun/My Little MonsterI liked it at the start but gradually grew to hate it so much. Hated the MC, hated the love interest, hated them together even more. In fact it was the first manga that made me realise that I could drop a series and then I shouldn't read a manga if I don't like reading it.That being said this series itself is a 10/10 for me.
>>273536365This seems like it was really underplayed. She just admitted to stealing his stuff? I assume this gets resolved or explained later because if some girl was taking my shit in an attempt to get close to me (?) I wouldn't be very happy with her.
>>273535899I'm only gonna read cos you got dubs.
>>273539894Nozomi's stalking tendencies are part of her charm if you ask meSpeaking of shojo, I wish someone would start scanlating Kashikoi Otoko wa Koishika Shinai, which runs in Margaret. What a blast it is so far, like a cross between peak Kaguya and Nichibros
>>273541191That sounds super good.
>>273541180Enjoy!
>>273541191Well if that's her archetype I guess it makes sense, didn't realize she was going to be obsessive. (Can you tell I've read barely any shoujo?)
>>273536874>>273537760Shoujo isn't totally dead but a lot of the classic shoujo genres are dead. It'd be great if they could be revived but shoujo still has a niche as romance for girls since girls usually don't read romcoms for guys which became a big thing recently. Honey Lemon Soda is getting an anime and it reached 12 million volume sales so far. But the romance genre is so fragmented now that I don't think any new romance manga, either for a male or female demographic, will reach Kimi ni Todoke's level of popularity. The end of that manga represented an end of an era.
>>273535899literally me>Insomniacs after schoolI’m reading this now and I’m close to the end. I’ve heard the end is bad, now I don’t really want to finish it. I don’t know if I want to see the bad ending for those two.
>>273542301I'd say that the ending is disappointing or lackluster, rather than bad. Just finish it
>>273542301>>273542469The ending is fine. It was just a few doomposting anons who can't handle nice things
>>273535899Nice, what is Robico doing these days?
>>273535899>Robico
>>273543793Probably retired from this business
>>273536129>Why does some unattractive protagonist always have two guys chasing after herMale romance manga is literally this now. An unattractive protagonist with multiple girls chasing after him.>And the guy and the girl get together in such a short span of timeBut that is where it differs from shoujo
>>273536733Thank you for posting.
Nozomi is quite possibly peak cute
>>273541901What do you think cause the level of fragmentation?
>>273548797Yes, I don't think JKs get cuter than her.
>>273536733A great choice, anon! You're a man of impeccable taste. I love the art style for this series.
>>273535899Let's go!
>>273536191y-yeah, who would want a random woman to confess to you out of the blue haha that's so weird
>>273536494i dont get it, is she turned off by the leg hair or is it making her horny? is exposed leg hair a social thing i would understand if i were a nip
>>273536494He's just like me fr
>>273549969I think that was implied. It's the explosion of male romcoms in the late 2000s and 2010s (and I think the LN boom is an important part of it). Before, if guys wanted a romcom fix, they usually have to go to shoujo. Now there's a whole genre just for them. While these new romcoms did have some influence from iconic shounen romcoms from the past like Kimagure Orange Road, Takahashi Rumiko, Akamastu Ken, etc. you can see a lot of influence from shoujo and shoujo tropes (like the teasing romcoms). It's basically the same niche as shoujo but for a different demographic. Toradora is a great example of this since it's a Lovely Complex copycat but for guys, and it's one of the oldest of what I consider this modern romcom type I'm describing. So now you get a situation where for most romance series, the audience is either overwhelmingly male or overwhelmingly female.
>>273550433Heh, it seems like you and I are not polar opposites at all, at least when it comes to manga :)
>>273535899I've spent the last couple of days just reading random romance manga. I have too much now. The Internet really is just too useful.
>>273546736>nowTry forty years ago. People still mald about orange road and macross
>>273536305>sorry, I can't date you if I'm not the one chasing you and getting you to say yesMen...
>>273536623This Aizawa girl is cute when she's nervous. I like their dynamic.
God, she's so fluffy.
>>273536389>at first I was:seriousface.jpg>then I was:
>>273555739Nozomin is cute. Cute!
>>273555739
