JB from Czech Republic your package is here and all I can say is that you are a glorious madman, thanks a lot for risking your life and sending booze from your country. You have no idea how lucky you are that Customs didn't randomly decide to open your package. Anyway, I'll save it for a special occasion. And by that I mean that I'll probably drink half of it on the night of the 24th while waiting for the time to open your gift. Whatever it is, thanks in advance. I'm glad it got to you safely! With the bottle I just assumed customs don't care as long as it's within Schengen, never had an issue anyway. I also bought a bottle for myself and I like it a lot! In fact my parents liked it so much when I gave them a taste while visiting that they confiscated my bottle and now I have to buy another one.

your gift arrived more or less safely here during the week. There was a huge rent in the outside box but thankfully you packaged everything well enough that the presents themselves seem fine (I'm sure that between us we can agree to blame this on Brexit).
There wasn't anything telling me one way or the other whether it was ok to open the card so I chanced it and opened it, which didn't backfire horrendously. Thanks so much for the card and the bookmark and the post cards I really love them. Was that Yu-Gi-Oh stamp home made? I really hope you didn't pay 5 pounds for it regardless. Yeah she's a real cutie and I'm glad she was the character you chanced on to draw. I think it's just a problem with long running, pseudo-harem series that early characters fall to the wayside in favour of the new girl of the volume unless they are the author's pet or super popular with the fans and those characters never seem to be the ones I like

After a rough few days, my card from RM of FL arrived just in time to cheer me up!
I love it! And the glitter seems to be stuck on really well, so I won't still be finding it five years from now.
To answer your questions, this is my first Christmas here so I don't actually know what usually happens. It seems like a marginally more religious version of how it is in Japan (i.e., a commercial/couples holiday) with about 10% of the population being some kind of Christian denomination. Colonel Sanders doesn't quite have the same stranglehold over Christmas here, but they do have some Christmas items. Hail is rare, but it happens once every few years. Snow is basically unheard of.
I've been meaning to check out Dr Slump for a while, so I'll give that a look. I'm glad you could use me as an excuse to re-read Bobobo.

Thank you for the Myne card! I will admit, I was a little thrown off by your card. I struggled a little bit to read your handwriting and there were pepper oil all over the card and the envelope. I saw the there was some random bits of peppers in the envelope, and tried to figured out if it was an accident or intentional. I vaguely recall someone last year posting about receiving pepper seeds, so I went ahead and planted them.
As for Ojamajo Doremi... I really don't have an answer to that. I tried watching it years ago, and I didn't dislike it, I just never finished S1. I redownloaded it last night and started watching it again from the beginning. Thank you for the push, I'm excited to finally watch it!

Thank you NB from CA! I love this card, the Gintoki silhouette, the Mima doodle, and the pimpin' gengar. I'm glad you enjoyed perfect Blue too! I thought it was incredible, and I'm going to be watching more Satoshi Kon films when I have more free time. I really love this paper ornament too! I don't have room for a tree in my apartment, but I will hang this on my bedroom door. About gengar though, I'm no artist. I know that and you know that, but that drawing I did for you 2 years ago I actually think about a lot. People post that picture, memes of it, etc. every year and in complete honesty I'm never the one who brings it up, posts it, makes OC etc. A lot of people just really like it, talk about it, and use him as a figure of "Yes your art doodles are good enough, look at this thing, everyone loves it" and that makes me incredibly happy. A few may feel like it's a forced meme but it's entirely organic. The whole gengar card thing just amplified my love for him. Are you still into pokemon or not really? I don't play the mainline games anymore and haven't for a while but I will occasionally play randoms on showdown, and I'm into the Pokemon TCG pocket app which is basically just about collecting cards. I collected a lot of the original cards back in the day, still have them. This evokes that feeling for me, and it's free, would recommend. I'm glad to hear you gave alcohol and ogre girls a try. I'm not usually one to enjoy /u/ content, but I really liked the character dynamic between the two.
Catch up on the GuP films when you can, they're fun. The latest one gets a bit hard to follow during some of the battles due to camera framing, but it's otherwise enjoyable.
I share your opinion on food focus. But please understand it's a Japanese autism thing. Half of the time on variety shows the hosts are talking about some local specialty from bumfuck nowhere Japan like it's the best thing around. This did not stop me from watching Isekai Shokudou.

Negotiations have been going so badly that the government is stepping in with back to work legislation. They're mandating that the union will continue working under the old contract for half a year and that negotiations will restart in May.

I received this card from AC from IN. Good to see you again and thank you for the card and generous amount of snacks, which I have already gotten started on. The drawing is good. I also like all of the characters and I agree Zina/Gina is great since she somehow stands out as being extra wacky in a show filled with over the top characters. I think I have built up enough leg strength to do the Cossack dance, but I still lack the coordination and fall backwards every time I try to imitate her. Hibiki is my personal favorite, so I appreciate the keychain. She can act as an ornament for now since the clear acrylic looks really nice with light shining through it and then I'll probably use her as a bag charm.

It was in fact because of your 2023 card wish list that I started reading Kengan and then caught up to the current progress after Christmas, so thanks for getting me on that. I do agree the sequel isn't as good as the first part, but it is still entertaining. It feels like there was some meddling from the editor and things have just gone way out there with the more serious story. I'll have to check out your other recommendations as well.

For Ranma, Shampoo does seem to align with the character you listed last year from Urusei Yatsura. Now that it is late enough that everyone should have already finished cards, I can safely point out that I like Akari. She comes in late and doesn't get much screen time, but I think she is really cute and looks like a proto-Kagome. I also feel strongly that any girl named Akari will always be the best girl in whatever she is in and this rule has yet to let me down. I've even considered just putting down Akari on my card wish list with no show attached to it since nothing could possibly go wrong. I may pickup ingredients to make your cookies this weekend. I will give status report if I do. I made them the first time I received a card from you back in 2020 and they were very good. I think I will probably go lighter on the chocolate this time though since I thought they overpowered the other flavors and I want as much cream cheese and crispy as possible.

Last, I also feel the need to comment about how USPS took forever. I was watching the tracking and though for sure I saw and update that had arrived in my state Sunday night, but then that update disappeared and it was just in transit for a week before it finally left IN. Half of the cards I sent have also stalled out is a similar way, so it seems this may be a bad year for mail. I hope no one is waiting until the last minute and counting on the mail to function as it should.

Like an hour after I wondered whether I really didn't have any candy or anything sweet in stock this package unexpectedly came in. A lovely Panty from MS from PA with a load of snacks. She and the card came out very well, be more confident! I wasn't really expecting anyone to pick her this year either, so I was quite happy to see her. It's a good way to start the card season.

3 musketeers was finally crossed off the "American snacks I often see mentioned online" list. No idea what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting it to be like a Milky Way. Also, those Shaq gummies truly are American sized and unlike our typical gummies they just kinda melt in your mouth; they're nice. The other chocolates will be good tea time snacks.

I haven't tried the peanut butter one yet and I can't describe flavor like some mangaka can, but the Milk Crunch one tastes like Milk Crunch. I was thinking of grabbing one locally for fun to see if the flavor differs between continents, but it tastes familiar enough, so I doubt it. Really? I specifically chose it because I thought it was a perfect “beginners’ anime”. Episodic and comfy so it’s easy to keep up with, lots of the usual character tropes, and also shows off a lot of Japanese Culture. I remember pausing it so I could explain stuff like the Boke and Tsukkomi routine or why Chitose has nosebleeds.

Did I ever expect to get bootleg liquor through Secret S/a/nta? No, but it's very cool and indeed incredibly fitting - Kikuri would be proud. I've tried a bit of it already and it actually tastes and smells really good. Did you really make this yourself? I can't describe flavors well, but it's very refreshing and citrus-y. Did you dilute the base in any way? It doesn't taste as strong as vodka and thus drinks really nicely. I'm looking forward to finding out whether the cheese - smells so good - goes well with the alcohol tomorrow (and yes, I'll leave most for Christmas). You should turn that full setup thing into a goal for 2025!

Ah, fuck me, I see what happened. I just copy and paste the addresses from the email into the site I use to print labels, which will then fill out all the fields on the form. The issue seem to be that it forgot about the apt number when filling everything in, so that is why the address is "incomplete." Definitely my fault for not noticing, but I'm not entirely sure if there's anything I can do on my side besides waiting for it to get returned to me and sending it out again with a fixed address. Depending on what methods the post offices uses for "verifying" addresses (I'm only a bit familiar with private mailhouse software) the issue might solve itself on its own, but I can't say. I believe that going to the mailhouse to talk to them about sorting out the address/receiving it there while tracking says that they have the card on hand would work (I've done something similar before) but I wouldn't ask you to do something like that.

Thank you so much for the first card of the year, AW of UT! I must apologize because I was out of town for a little while and wasn't able to open it until last night. It's always fun to find people who also really like some of your favourite shows! Kokoro Toshokan was probably the biggest surprise for me when I watched it. I gave it a shot after one of those throwaway "Why haven't you watched this show yet" threads and I loved it so much. On the other hand, Sailor Moon has been a long time favourite of mine. I've recently got around to watching Crystal and, while it lacks a lot of the charm of the original series, it has given me a lot more to love about the IP as a whole. The little Sailor Jupiter is super cute! She got a little bit roughed up in transit her head fell off :( but with a little TLC she's looking great and has a nice home on my desk now! I also agree that the Revue Starlight songs are very good, and it is what got me watching the show at first. I had a friend who was really into the show, and I ignored them until I listened to "You are a Ghost" (which I later found wasn't even in the anime) and decided to give it an earnest watch.

Next to arrive was from AC of IN. Finally my turn at the cocoa and dainties! I'll definitely make them for Christmas Eve festivities and enjoy them together! It has been many years since I've baked sweets, but hopefully they'll turn out well. I'm really happy to hear that you like Kinnikuman too! Admittedly, my first real in was watching the Kanpeki Choujin Arc this year, so I am a bit of a latecomer to the series. I have started to read the manga though, and will perhaps give some of the older anime a try too. The manga hasn't gone away from its gag roots too much yet, but I really like the balance of serious and goofy that the anime had. It is just a really fun show to watch. I'll have to find a place to put up my little Christmas tree soon so that I can hang Jupiter up on it!

Admittedly, it took me a minute to realize (I am not a very smart man), but I love it now.(For others reference, black outside goes with white inside and vice versa) I will also say that I admire the dedication with the garbled text on the inside of the first one, and please don't tell me that it is some encrypted code that I need to decrypt because I know how some of you anon are with these cards. That history episode of Kokoro Toshokan hit me like a truck for sure. The series had never strayed away from emotional moments, but I still was not expecting it. The pocky was delicious and I had, in fact, already eaten it at the time these photos were taken. There are scissors in the box so it can act as a weight
Made in Abyss's OP is great; always love it when the cast sings the themes of a show. Dirty Pair is one of those series I've always been aware of, but have never gotten around to looking into. Pas De Deux is so nice, I like the music as well as the visuals of them chilling in the glasses, very classy. I also watched the OP of the movie since it popped up in the recommended section and was blown away by how cool and stylish it was. The TV ED being a POV of driving while jamming to the song is pretty cute too.
I hope your Christmas is very merry as well!

Yuri's Christmas doesn't seem to be going so well but I'll make sure to enjoy mine. This is indeed the second card I've gotten from you. To be honest, with your first card, I kind of got the impression that you didn't even watch much anime, so it was surprising to get wordswordswords: the card: the extended director's cut but I enjoyed reading it all. You remembered correctly, the giant alien on the roof was Yellow Knife. I don't know if hyper realistic the right word but it was definitely more detailed than the girls around it. I like the anime design's more than the manga's, but it's still worth the read as well. I reread it myself this year.
The Mushishi OPs are such unique songs to hear in anime so I'm not surprised to hear them as a pick. And yes, you mentioned Aquarion's OP (as well as Cruel Angel's Thesis) in your last card; it's never too late to get around to watching it so you can feel the full power of the A I SHI TE RU.
I wouldn't say all EDs are just to wind down. Some of them can be pretty fun and catchy. Hare Hare Yukai for example completely eclipsed the OP culturally. Even from CCS there's Groovy which is as the name suggests. Dragon Crisis's legacy as a vehicle for cool music and basically nothing else is always funny to me.
As for your recs, the only thing I haven't seen anything of is Daimidaler though I do remember seeing caps and gifs from it. Now that I've checked it out further it looks pretty fun, I might grab it after I finish what I'm currently watching.

For what its worth, I think the curling on the card might be moreso from the glue but, yeah, boxing is always going to be the safe option since you can absolutely pack those full of paper/foam to keep everything safe. Crystal is definitely an interesting series. It keeps a bit more of the style of gags from the manga which gives it a unique feeling when compared to the original series, but some of the heart did get rounded out in the process. The OPs and EDs are great, though, and Moon Pride is probably my favourite OP song of any anime and the season 3 OP overall is one I find myself liking more than the original Moonlight Densetsu. I do end up speaking more favourably about Crystal than other people I come across, so your mileage will definitely vary.
The RS movie really is fantastic. I didn't know anything about the movie when I first watched it (didn't watch any trailers or anything), so the entire introduction and conclusion of the Revue of Annihilation was so damn cool to watch. For me, they somehow managed to capture that intrigue from the first episode all over again, since now the revues can seemingly happen at any time and anywhere. I really could gush keep gushing about that film for many more posts, I just love it so much.
