Part of Badeni's tragedy is that he only overcomes his pride and prejudices in order to connect with Oczy when it is too late. They were together for months but never managed a proper conversation. On the other hand, it took the same amount of time for Oczy to grow and have enough confidence to stand and challenge Badeni instead of backing down. Finally they are equals, but it is too late for them. They should have fucked.
