It tends to make the bottom and tops of the pages wavy, and it only gets more noticeable the more details there are, and the larger the page it is. So I mostly just use it for scanning text pages, or for manga I just don't give that much of a shit about.I work with my own scans and I prefer 600dpi because I've been able to get slightly better quality out of it, plus much easier for redraws, especially if the base size of the paper is small as fuck. That said cleaning is probably the thing I'm worst at in the entire scanlation process so 300dpi is probably plenty if you have a solid grasp of what you're doing.
