I’ve always thought the show was about each of the girls’ individual struggles (but mostly Nina’s) and not an over encompassing critique on Japanese society or whatever so Togenashi Togeari never struck me as a punk band

A story with multiple high school dropouts and them deciding to ditch the label at the end is already quite out of the norm for Japan too, it makes me question why Toei went with that narrative when the whole series is extremely commerical/manufactured in the opposite way that Togenashi Togeari is in the show.

Bocchi did it better, the songs in Bocchi were actually really good and really fitting, especially Bocchi's solos
