Anyone else ever have to deal with a seizure? I recently had to help my dad when he had one. Freaked me the fuck out and I froze up for a moment before getting my shit together and calling for emergency services. When you see someone suddenly being weird, it's going to make you try to figure out what the hell is happening. It's just a matter of how fast you can break that thinking moment and get to helping the victim asap. If you ever find someone having a seizure, try to get them to lay on their side, keep their head level and parallel with their spine, and keep an eye on their breathing. Any irregularities need to be mentioned, no matter how minute they are. The show did a good job explaining the unintentional movement thing too. For my dad, he had a chewing motion he was doing for the entire duration of his episode, which in hindsight after I found out he was fine was pretty amusing, and we both got a chuckle out of it once he was back on his feet and healthy again. The human body does weird shit subconsciously, and walking forward like a sleepwalker is absolutely reasonable as a symptom.If you ever get in a situation where you're near a seizure victim, break out of that initial "what the fuck" shock as fast as you can, call emergency services immediately, and do your best to calmly explain what's happening to the victim. The operator WILL listen to every single thing you say, as long as you are actually talking to them and giving them updates. The worst thing you can do during someone else's seizure is panic, so staying calm is YOUR absolute priority.Be safe, anons. (You) and your loved ones.
