I was actually thinking of playing the visual novel. How is the anime? I kinda assume the visual novel is a better experience.
I didn't care for the anime, I mostly know it because Chiaki gets her foot impaled, which is pretty rare and I enjoy some foot ryona of that level.

And the quirky Monokuma act? A combination of her wanting to fuck with people and the fact that instead of always directly being in control, there's a somewhat glitchy AI cobbled together from some of the Ultimate Programmer's attempts at making an AI with modifications from someone who isn't an expert with programming. Which means Monokuma sometimes acts even more unhinged than in canon. And I could tell you more, but I think I might eventually actually make it, so I don't want to spoil it too much. Basically, she's an entirely different kind of villain than Junko, and the theme is different from the first game, and the way some talents work is also different from in canon. The one thing I will reveal that isn't related to Kyoko, is that Hiro is the Ultimate Magician, but kind of a Criss Angel parody.So, how bad is it?
