10 years later, what do we think of it?
Decent, it's much better than other shounen that pretend to have a story but are really about killing a bunch of bad guys.
>>274985561Made me cry.
Nagisa and Karma are __________.
>>274986265I didn't cry when I first watched the anime. But I did during the recent storytime.
"people" who sexualize my boy Nagisa should castrate themselves
>>274985561watched plenty of anime before it but it was my first manga and im kinda glad it was
>>274986921Even Matsui?
Karma is so lucky
>>274987171Seriously, what the fuck did Matsui mean by this?
>>274985561>10 years laterYou can't be serious
>>274985561this is the first time i've seen the cast in colour. i did not know nagisa's hair was that ugly shade of blue.
>>274988696It's meant to convey that Karma was just a bit paranoid.
>>274987171In universe: Karma is a control freak and sensed that Nagisa had a part of him that he couldn't understand or predict so it made him uncomfortableMeta: Matsui likes cute boys and is illustrating how they have a power over him and like minded individuals that the boys themselves are unaware of.>>274988769I thought it had been longer.
Better than any Jump manga currently running. Especially that new astroturfed ugly ass one.
>>274989665oops, first part meant for >>274988696
>>274989091But the series had color pages
>>274985561>weLoved it, love it, can't wait to keep read the manga since it's been ages since I've engaged with it
>>274988696Karma is scared of Nagisa's inner snek, also he's a little bit horny. The storytime made me realize that Karma is kinda gay for him(one-sided)
>>274985561The first time I watched it I was in my last year of high school after getting accepted in a top uni in another country. I was very happy to travel and go to uni in a new country, but part of me was sad to leave all my friends and family.Assassination classroom was great in term of story, but it also focused on the kids going from middle school to high school (or maybe it's from high school to uni). Anyway, it did show them preparing themselves to leave their current lives and start something new, which was extremely relatable. So I really loved the story/characters and it was emotional, and I was able to relate a lot with what the students were going through. I watched it at the perfect time.I then rewatched it a couple years ago, and it was good. Not nearly as good as the first time I saw it, but it still holds up. Of course I could no longer relate to the characters, and knowing the entire story, the whole mystery is already solved, which was a pretty big part of the story. It's one of those stories that are good on a first watch, but don't have much rewatch value.
>>274992389When you're older you can relate more to Koro-sensei and Karasuma.
>>274985561I want a GTO-esque followup of protag's highschool teaching adventures much more than I ever wanted the original series
>>274985561Really fun. SEISHUN SETSUBATSURON!
>>274993402GTO -like sequel but it is Nagisa as teacher, having to tard wrangle his students (clearly this is what the snek powers were made for).
>>274985561Dropped it back then, but I really enjoyed the storytime. Younger me got some shit taste.
>>274985561It's still pretty good. I hope they are not remaking the anime because it's mostly fine as is.
>>274985561>10 years later, what do we think of it?The Japanese still can't do endings.Nagisa should have been a femaleThe ending was a cop-out, Nagisa should have become an assassin.
>>274994387>Nagisa should have been a femaleShould have gotten a Needless ending.Karma should have gotten the tentacles and when they asked him what he wanted, it was to marry Nagisa, so the tentacles attach to nagisa and make him a girl.
>>274994387No? Nagisa never wanted to be an assassin. He just thought it was all he was good at.
>>274985561Will Nigejouzu fare as well as this?
>>274994823>Nagisa never wanted to be an assassinI pretty distinctly remember him not being explicitly against it, only that he views it as bad because of societal standards
Actually has a good ending which is one of the highest praises you can give a manga
>>274994979My prediction is that it will have a good ending but not as good as AssClass.
>>274994387Girl Nagisa gets fucked by Karma, right?
>>274996300At this point somebody is going to be upset whether or not Tokiyuki dies so that’s a given.
Wish they showed the girls panties when they made the up skirt toy tank
>>274985561I loved the anime. Maybe I will read the manga in Japanese for my dekinai.
I wish it was just a weird story instead of trying to be social commentary.
>>274998217>trying to be social commentaryIs it? Asano's methods are treated as abnormal and extreme even in-universe and as soon as they're widely publicized his school is shut down. That's not much of a critique against the Japanese school system. Other than that, the only thing I can think of that could be construed as social commentary is Nagisa's mom trying to plan out his entire life for him. But again, that's treated as her being abnormal and insane and is also more about relatability for the target demographic of kids for whom asserting their own identity and ambitions in the face of their parents' expectations is a common struggle.
The main cast of the last non-Yusei Matsui series you watched replaces Nagisa, Karma and company as the students of Class 3-E.What kind of different hijinks would ensue in Koro-sensei's classroom?
>>274985561I want an epilogue chapter of Karma fucking Nagisa's ass
>>274998896>MagilumiereIt would actually be cute to watch Korosensei nurture Kana's photographic memory.Everyone would shitpost about the yuri until they realize that Koshigaya is already engaged
>>274985561I still need to finish it, I've had it on hold for so long
>>274998731>That's not much of a critique against the Japanese school systemJapan may not be as batshit insane as Asano, but they did enforce a merit based hierarchy so the kids at the bottom were going to be a target of disdain.
>>274985561It was my first anime. Did not expect it to make me sob. For a while it made me want to be a teacher especially since my aunt and one of my cousins became teachers but as I looked into it more it didn’t seem worth it considering the pay and lack of appreciation. Also the first day of college I was the only dude in my intro to education class so I noped the fuck out. Call me a faggot but I can’t stand women my age, I prefer older women.
>>274985561It had a decent plot but was forgettable in the end. I think it suffered from having way too many main characters.
>>274985561>what do we think of it?It needed more scenes involving Nagisa with long hair and crossdressing.
>>275001139Bro you were on the verge of being an actual anime protagonist with a college harem, and then you just noped out? Wtf?!
>>274998896>Iruma-kunMain trio is easily replaced (Nagisa with Iruma, Karma with Asmodeus and Kayano with Clara), I guess that Korosensei would be Sullivan(can't see Sullivan as Asano), Karasuma with Kalego and Bitch-sensei with Raim-sensei (or we can do Opera for the meme).3E is replaced by the misfits, plus Ameri and and a bunch of the known first years to reach the correct number.I think it would work pretty well, especially since both are school based series.
>>274998950They're already fucking but Kayano is oblivous
>>275003690>Bitch-sensei with Raim-sensei (or we can do Opera for the meme).Wrong and wrong again, it clearly should be Momonoki-sensei, if you want to go for a meme.
>>275003853Momo-sensei isn't really the sexy type of teacher. But she's pining after Kalego so it would fit. But maybe Kalego is that one man that Raim said she couldn't seduce
>>275003959>Momo-sensei isn't really the sexy type of teacher.Really, anon, really? She very much as Anglo-Saxons would say, a real sexy bitch.
>>275001139>Call me a faggot but I can’t stand women my age, I prefer older women.Okay.
>>274993509Would any of Nagisa's students try to get him to crossdress?
>>274985561I can't still believe THEY RETURNED THE FUCKING MONEY PFFF HAHA
>>275007006That's the only part of the ending I don't like. I don't even disagree with the underlying sentiment. It was just a bad way of doing it.
>>275003754Good!
>>274985561Good but the complete lack of stakes ended up hurting it in the long run imo.
>>275009434The assassins just needed to stay dead and it would've been fine. Even if it highlights the Shinigami being a jobber it was a little too much.
>>275009501That's definitely part of it but there's definitely more I would have changed. it felt like the author was REALLY committed to making sure there was never any real conflict or danger at any point in the story.
>>275009679I'm OK with that because the Class E vs. The System conflict was overall better than the assassin storyline anyways, and it hammered home Korosensei's power and dedication to keeping the kids safe. If they pussied out on killing Korosensei in the end then I would be saying something completely different right now though.
>>275009679They actually lost a couple times in the class E vs Asano conflict.
>>275009784But even the school stuff gets impacted by this. The core issue with having no stakes os that it makes everything incredibly predictable. The author tries to mitigate this by trying to hype up the "bad guys" but after the 5th time of nothing happening it just becomes silly. Hell they're not even underdogs anymore by the halfway point and they're functionally superhuman by the last quarter of the story. To clarify I don't think it ruins the manga (helck did a waaaay worse job with this type of storytelling) it's just something that keeps me from seeing it as one of the greats like I know some people do.
>>275010976And absolutely nothing came of that
>>275011029What do you mean? Yes, they won in the end. That's the norm. But the teaching philosophy conflict was nowhere near as one sided as the assassin stuff.
>>275011388>But the teaching philosophy conflict was nowhere near as one sidedReally?>Haha I am the bad guy, I hold extreme views about life and work ethic!!!!>*looks menacing*>Haha but I am a yellow squid and you are wrong see *squid points at student(s)*>Haha but THE SYSTEM *bad guy looks menacing*>*yellow squid starts sweating* GASP oh no THE SYSTEM!!!!>*student speaks up* You are wrong bad guy>*bad guy starts sweating* IMPOSSIBLE>argument over
>>274990549the longer you look at this the worse the perspective and scale becomes
>>275010999I think the issue is since they're dealing with assassins, they're also dealing with extreme consequences if they fail, and that's not allowed to happen in a manga about relatively grounded middle school kids trying to pass their classes. If you can't bring yourself to enjoy the conflict and the resolution without the promise of some kind of long lasting physical consequence then that part is not going to click.
>>274998896I only started watching, so you tell me.
>>274985561Ahem, FUCK Nagisa.
The civil war and the space mission had some good drama and fun mission stuff, but at the conclusion it feels like it all had no impact on the story or the characters. Also the class only carrying out one actual plan to kill Korosensei and then not needing to do so in the finale is a shame. Jobber and Seether just softened him up for them.Still a solid time that firmly sticks the landing.
>>274985561A lot better than I remembered after the story time. Very fun manga that's worth at least one read
>>275015194Karma...
>there are no stakesYou wouldn't know what stakes are even if they were explained to you like to a baby.
>>274985561Mid
Is there a class 3E student that you guys find unlikable? For me, it's Okano.Look, I know what Maehara did to her was unforgivable. But I feel like, after that incident, Matsui just wanted a reason to put slapstick comedy in this manga. Okano went from a decent character to assaulting or kicking Maehara for no apparent reason.
>>275021252Takebayashi was my least favorite but I was still just indifferent to him. I also barely remember Terasaka's two friends.
Just came here to sayI LOVE HUGE TITS I LOVE LARGE BOOBS I LOVE BIG BREASTS I LOVE HUGE KNOCKERS I LOVE MASSIVE MAMMARIES
>>275021252Never particularly cared for Kayano pre or post reveal. It's not that she's horrible, she's just bland even after her arc.
>>275021444holy gesu
>>275021444Korosensei said this.
>>275021252Karma.
>>274985561>we
>>274985561Very good. Anime was decent too
>>274985561I liked how they portrayed the mid-year exams as battles. Reminded me of Final Fantasy A+
>>275023419Love that Korosensei is canonically a big boob lover, wonder if it was before or after the transformation.
