the increase of the "villainess" genre is kinda interesting, because for centuries there have been written novels/books about court drama, dashing young masters fighting each other for the right to court the heroine of the story, it's been basically same shit for like past 10 centuries now, or even longer depending if you view some ancient classics as romance stories. while men might prefer sword and sandal fantasies or adventures and establishing themselves as the hero who is powerful and just, somehow the female audience seems to have similar demand for "young noble lady gets everyones attention and has swarms of men trying to court her". i guess next decade will see even more female-pandering anime because there already exist way too many battleshounen for young men but the market for women is still not oversaturated.>all the shitty telenovela plots and soap dramas will be remade through anime format

The designs look more like '90s style characters than modern anime designs, the author is a guy who's been working for over 30 years, the director is a guy who's been around since Evangelion, the Matsuken Samba cover ED and the MC and his wife both being oldfag otaku. Obviously it's not 1:1 but it seems to be evoking the older style of isekai where it's less self-insert power fantasy and just a person having some kind of adventure in a different world that can be as serious or light in tone as it needs to be at any given time.Also unlike a lot of throwback stuff nowadays it's not trying to drown you in "REMEMBER THING" stuff and when it does drop a reference it makes sense (like the wife/mother buying it with little convincing because she's an otaku who liked stuff Mashin Hero Wataru and NG Knight Lamune).
Don't usually bother with these kinds of anime. But this was fun so I'm definitely sticking with it.
