What if in Daima everyone's memories and power levels were reverted as well, like they were plucked straight from the past? It could take place a few years after EoZ. Uub leaves the Son house to continue his training on his own like Goku did when he was young. The next morning, Goku and Chi-Chi, now kids again, would be surprised and confused waking up naked in a big bed together. Goku would wonder where his Grandpa is and Chi-Chi would panic and accuse Goku of stealing her from Mt. Frypan Palace in the night to be his concubine (she's not completely opposed to it). Meanwhile Vegeta is wondering why he's surrounded by weaklings and how he got to another planet. Piccolo was a fully-formed adult when he was a kid because he's a reincarnation and he has Nail and Kami inside him so who knows what happens with him. The only ones who weren't reverted at all, and have complete knowledge of the present, are Bra and Pan. No flash back or cutaway scene showing how they were reverted into children. The characters have to figure it out along with the audience, with nobody to wrangle them, as the Demon World's power grows and seeps into Earth. Would that be better or worse?

But then after Goku arrives, the Ginyu Force feels like cannon fodders. Burter and Jeice don't do enough. Piccolo is wasted and only brought back because he was popular in the last arc. Even the fight against Freeza isn't as good as the one against the Saiyans. Where the non-Goku characters played an important role in the fights against Raditz and Vegeta. And it's the part where power scalings also becomes absurd and everyone but Goku effectively falls on the wayside.Let that sink in: Goku got a few beatings from Gohan and Krillin, then one nap in a healing pod later, he's fighting on even grounds with Freeza. Then one nakama death later, he's literally invincible.Goku doesn't train at all once he lands on Namek and his power level goes from like 90,000 to 3,000,000 up to 150 MILLION as a Super Saiyan.He went from being weaker than Ginyu to above Freeza at full power in just a matter of a few hours.

Reading through the manga has made me appreciate the way Toriyama handles the cast, which I feel isn't appreciated enough and other mangaka rarely do it.Every arc adds new characters to the mix, starting from Goku and Bulma all the way to Mr. Satan and Buu, and it works because older characters start to get phased out while the new ones get their moment. Most of Namek is just Gohan and Krillin playing a cat and mouse game with Vegeta, Cell Saga has Trunks, Piccolo and Vegeta as major players and Buu Saga has Goten, Trunks and Gohan. As many have stated, it's interesting how Goku is sidelined during the "Z" sagas.There's also the fact that the characters age and Toriyama wasn't afraid of having Goku grow up to the point he's a grandpa by the end of the series. He didn't give some lame excuse about Goku losing his iconic design or anything about the character growing up, he just did it. I guess that's why reading through the end feels so satisfying, you see the characters growing up and the group being larger and larger, you hardly get something like that in other shonen manga because they keep the main cast as a solid group that is the same from beginning to end.I know he wanted to end it all by the Buu Saga, but I'm definetly curious about how the story would have played out if it had continued past EoZ. Would Pan and Uub have become the main characters? We know Toriyama wasn't afraid of having little kids or women getting brutalized, and the way we go from Boo to EoZ is similar from the 23th Tenkaichi to Saiyan. I guess the Toei/Jump staff told him they'd continue from where he left off so he ended things on an open ending? Not sure if he planned to end it all like that or it was a product of him being done with the series. To me, the 2008 OVA is how Super should have been, more focus on slice of life, comedy and toy with the idea that they're so strong now that a Frieza-level threat is like a show now.
