But still, the MC is betrayed and in the depths of his despair he unlocked the true potential of his weakest skill. As the plot develops it turns out that the MC is an unreliable narrator, his skill really is supposed to be as strong as it has become but up until being abandoned he simply never applied himself and wanted to be carried by his osananajimi and party. They tried to coach him but he’d just act hurt, he’d behave selfishly all the time as if the world revolved around him. After the osananajimi finally gave up on him and moved on with a much better guy in the party they had enough of him and booted him out. As the plot goes on, details would emerge on what was actually happening. The story wasn’t about a weakest getting revenge, it’s about the rise of a strong villain.
