There are good jap actors but the problem is that they don't get the main role, all the popular shows in Japan are fronted by popular entertainers first and foremost, talents are secondary. Jap's TV taste is also more casual so the industry embrace the bad acting as it's funny and endearing to the audienceGodzilla Minus One is a great example of the difference in Jap's acting ability in one film. The main actor is over-the-top but the cast surrounding him are mature and seasoned actors.
