I might be a nitwit, but I don't understand the hype around monster.It feels like the manga is trying really hard to say something profound but ends up being completely pointless besides jerking itself off about how smart it and its characters are.What am I missing?

>>275194838The story is just honestly not that great and I'd know because I actually finished it despite being aware it was mostly just sunk cost fallacy. I think one of the biggest issues is that Yohan is supposed to be an evil genius but we never actually see him come up with any genius plots or use any genius tactics would have made him actually fun to watch, instead we're just supposed to take everyone's word for it that he's super smart.

You're right in that the actual quality of writing isn't all that great
