>>275193651I know this isn't what the thread is about, but I heard from an /an/on that this applies to brown bears. The reason why you can scare off a black bear is because they're not that large, so they size you up to see if you're worth going after. And if you flail your arms and make loud noises, it might decide you're not worth it. But brown bears don't do that. They are the largest mammal in north America, so they don't have to size any animal up. To them, everything that moves is possible food.
