>It's shown that one of the main characters did something evil in the past>they've lived most of their life ashamed of their deeds>then it's revealed it was entirely unintentional due to something completely excusable.everytime this is so fucking boring

Better than shit like everyone trying to copy Demon Slayer now because it popularized the "actually the villains have reasons" shit, except they do it far, far, far worse. And let me just be doubly clear for any redditard, I'm not saying Demon Slayer started that, just popularized it in recent years. I swear to God more series by the day that are getting an anime adaptations have this shit now.Take Ragna Crimson for example. Pretty much all the dragons so far have been utterly irredeemable scum bastards and bitches, yet I remember in the manga they showed little side stories or back stories for them. As if we're supposed to care about the dragon shitheads when they take pleasure in torturing and slaughtering people up to the present day. What a fucking waste of page space and chapters, the worst kind of filler imaginable. All we learned is that even in the past when they were younger (even as children) that pretty much all dragons are still evil faggots and whores, WOWEE. As if we didn't have it drilled into our heads from the beginning that was the case, "TOTAL DRAGON DEATH" being the entire premise of the series and all.

>>275194507What's boring about it? Seems like compelling drama that could happen to people.
>>275196463Not OP but narratively they revealed Chariot stole Akko and Diana's magic when they were little which was done after a lot of build-up and explained things like Akko's ineptitude, Diana's severe stance about hard work and Ursula's decision to hide her identity as Chariot, then one episode later they excused her as having been deceived by the actual villain and robbed Akko and Diana's forgiveness of having any weight. It made the story less interesting than the alternative.
>>275194897I don't think explaining a villain's point of view is a bad thing. It's not necessarily about making you forgive them, it just makes them more human.
>>275194507>>275196557She is still at fault for trusting the perpetrator. This is way more realistic than her just straight up flatly addressing the issue, without being slight bit of apologetic.
