Hilda has ample time to be established as a character, hers and Reinhards relationship make sense. Katerose is like "oh yeah, remember this guy left his family behind when he defected, here's his 16-year old daughter complete with extreme daddy issues, I guess we'll make her Julians love interest".
>>275194528I always got the impression that Greenhill was kind of a nepo baby that was just personally invested in Yang because of El Facil, while Mariendorf read the flow of history and put all of her family's fortune and her life on the line for Reinhard at a time when the outcome was uncertain, and ended up having a child with him which saved his dynasty. So Mariendorf is better for being on board with Reinhard's ideals while Greenhill doesn't care if democracy died so long as Yang lived.

Frederica was an adjutant who married her direct superior and was made the head of state while her late husband's adopted son became the head of military. The nepotism in Iserlohn Republic was off the charts.
