how come with isekai it's always some loser that gets transported to another world?
you never read any stories like chad smith, star high school quarterback, gets transported to a fantasy world and fucks up the demon king with elf bitches begging for his cock.

Which part of wish fulfillment fantasy don't you understand?

There's a show about a Red Ranger getting isekai'd airing right fucking now.

Thats a superhero being brought to fantasy, not exactly the same as normal but succesful person brought to isekai land.
>>
>>275243985
There's a show about a successful in both business and family man getting isekai'd airing right fucking now.
>>
>>275243792
Actually it would be cool to watch Chad get isekai'd and his life becomes shit and he sucks at everything there
>>
anon, please... that's all they have, don't take it away...

The proto-isekai: A story where a fatso neet otaku gets truck'd, gets reincarnated by a goddess and given cheat skills in a 1:1 copy of DQ, he goes back to a teen and a handsome body, the Hero class in his status screen, then teams up with a harem of cute girls, a priestess and kingdom princess included to defeat a demon lord commanding the monster army, then after winning goes back to earth to being a wagecuck fatso again.

The proto-villainess: A dungeon crawler persona-like where the MC is a peasant girl with extremely rare light element magic in a magic academy and cucks most of the important femoids in the kingdom (including the "villainess" that is betrothed to the crown prince) by resolving the personal and emotional problems of the 4-6 capture targets to get a reverse harem and get railed all night before going off to defeat the demon lord as the final boss of the game in the third year of school.

The proto-shoelacer: A wagie isekaijin eventually ends up being part of the hero's party as a support with his CF, but gets kicked out of the party for not doing enough DPS despite him handling basically all the logistics of dungeon crawling and even inn reservations for the retards, then the party falls apart, the CF alongside his party try to attack him but he BTFOs them all and gets a harem of his own.

The proto-huntershit: Modern current earth, but suddenly portals into "dungeons" appear and monsters start invading earth, then people all over the world start awakening to vidya classes and start fighting back against the monsters, timeskip like 5 years and now the dungeon crawling is a corpo bureaucratic dystopia where people would rather let stampedes happen than give up their copyright to a portal, and the MC is a rank F weakling cuck that accidentally finds a super secret powerup in some rando ass dungeon and becomes the strongest in the world bar none.

How come the only one people can find 1:1 examples of is the gookshit one?
>>
>>275243792
I think that would kinda work as a parody of fantasy isekai.
>>
>>275243792
Sentai red isekai is airing right now.
>>
>>275243792
At this point you have to fight for scraps to find a series about an actual loser that gets isekai'd, even if you count parody goysloppa.

I don't think there are many quarterbacks in Japan, maybe there are more now after Americans lost to Japan in American football that one time, now if you said star highschool pitcher or slugger then your premise might be believable.

You pretty much described Flash Gordon, just instead of being spirited away to another world he is kidnapped by a mad scientist and taken there on a rocket ship.
>>
>>275243792
>it's always some loser that gets transported to another world?
It isn't. You clearly haven't seen much isekai if you think this.
>>
>>275245630
Exactly this. People seem to think "successful" means they never screw up, but the whole point is often that their prior success didn’t translate when it mattered most. Isekai thrives on that "second chance" narrative—if everyone was perfect and invincible from the start, there’d be no room for growth or redemption, which is what drives a lot of these stories.
>>
>>275246104
>Isekai thrives on that "second chance" narrative
such as?
i will give you a bone and point out MT fails at this when the MC dies a fulfilled cuck that didn't even participate on the final fight, the destined chosen one is one of his daughters

Anime has often been about underdogs becoming powerful when you think about it. It's not an isekai thing.

>>
>>275246104
>there’d be no room for growth or redemption
there's no growth or redemption in average isekai anyway. it's hilarious how this little detail can turn any isekai from 3 to 7 singlehandedly yet Japs insist on solely making their characters Gary tsus for whom whole world bends over backwards. Hilariously enough if even smallest of details were taken from how MCs from Re:Zero and MT interact with the new world, isekai genre could actually be respectable but for consumer base big titty elf harem is much more interesting.

>>
>>275243792
There are a fuck ton of isekai about skilled successful people getting transported. They're generally the same shit as the loser ones despite the framing though.
>>
>>275255105
cant even remember the last true loser isekai that wasn't parody goyslop
aside from like MT, which got retroactively retconned by making rudeus just a generic smart but lazy and unmotivated genius that could akshually do anything he wanted if he tried but never had the motivation to
>>
>>275243792
>gets transported to a fantasy world and fucks up the demon king with elf bitches begging for his cock.
that's what ends up happening anyway, so you may as well have the original character be something your target audience will identify with.
>>
>>275243819
So the entire modern anime audience consists of losers.
>>
>>275246311
So kinda like most anime fans and anime protagonists, then.
>>
>>275255317
>and anime protagonists
ironically enough they tend to be far more mature for their years, unless they are actual adults, then they tend to act like manchildren like rudeus which westoids find relatable

There’s a sub-genre of strong MCs. Off the top of my head there’s two different isekai where the MC is an Agent 47-tier assassin before being isekai’d. HOWEVER, the MC being a NEET loser is also a small sub-genre; the huge majority of MCs are “unfortunate average salaryman / student”.
>>
>>275255476
>the huge majority of MCs are “unfortunate average salaryman / student”.
People like hajime are hardly average when they were already military engineers with two different careers unrelated to that on front of him after finishing HS, and that's the one that actually spawned the whole "betrayed by x" and would later devolve into shoelacer slop, AND the "classroom isekai" genres from how influential it was.
Then you have ones like cid that are just deranged geniuses that managed to become the best doctor on the planet, the best gymbro, the best martial artist, the best vigilante, and more while still getting cultured in the arts, all before even getting isekai'd.
Relatively common often cited examples like kirito (not isekai I know) turn out to not be the case either when he's an autistic superhacker, and ones like satou turn out to be hardly normal and questionably even human.
Even arafoos that are "totally normal I pinky fucking promise" end up betraying the premise by making the guy actually an autistic genius with tons of practice in some random ass thing.
>>
>>275255476
>MC is an Agent 47-tier assassin
at least in one he's tasked to kill The hero with limited resources so at least it's uphill battle.
>>
>>275243792
Because millions of men are "losers" who need actual help. At least they get scapism.
>>
>>275255476
>Off the top of my head there’s two different isekai where the MC is an Agent 47-tier assassin before being isekai’d.
four if you count the VRslop ones

Re:Zero is one of the worst series I have seen. Given the way the author writes the characters, it's obvious he never interacts with real people.
Taking it as a reference will only result in crappy series.
>>
>>275251459
Kenshiro, Goku, Gon, Luffy, Toriko, Yusuke were all strong from chapter 1.

>>
>>275255848
I said the system being good. Isekaijin getting transported and having basically no barriers is as stupid as it gets. Subaru's attempts at overcoming the blocks through getting right people together is what makes it interesting. Tappei though is definitely autistic so interactions on individual level suffer in quality.
>>
>>275256000
>and having basically no barriers

>>
>>275243792
I just want an isekai where the generic hero journeys to save the world and actually defeats the demon king without any subversion, i don't care if they're a wimp or not
