The hit to the show's soundtrack in the last part was almost as bad as the manga's drop in writing for it. >>275245616The thing is, that OST only fits if the rumbling is written as the heroic necessary evil that saves Eren's people. Mappa's music for that scene is sadly the better fit for Isayama's intent. It's a pretty shitty score, and it's what the final (final [final]) seasons deserve.
I started reading again from chapter 99, when Eren and Reiner start chatting. My opinion is that while 122 (I think) gave me bad feelings due to the deterministic nature of things, 126 is probably where things went actually sour. I was never as mad about the Annie eating pie thing, but I know some anons hated it, and had already long since been getting negative. But the ‘To Save the World’ really fell flat to me, because it’s strictly true that they were out of time, and Hange + the Scouts hadn’t really come up with an answer, so even though I felt for Onyankopon, I still can’t find it in me to be truly against the Yaegerists.One argument I heard is that Eren pretty much immediately left everyone when they went on their Marley scouting mission, and that it was this that prevented them from possibly being able to communicate with the world and plead their case, but it really wasn’t convincing. We had a nice long thread a day or two ago, got me wanting to try and look at things with a perspective less influenced by whisperings in my ear.
