Chapter 6 is out https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1023218
This chapter has been pure kino. Again.
>the true heroine and her development haircut is P E A KHope the other 2 dorks hop in on some other adventures too. I'm fine with it focusing on this trio, but I don't want the cast to get too bloated like Dandadan
I guess Hitsujiya eating that ladybug at the end of last chapter was a side effect that won't be touched until later?
awww yeah, the best ONE manga is out

I’m not going to list out explicit steps here and as others have said, this is all over the internet, though it would be bad opsec if someone was going to clandestinely produce explosives..

>>275257810>Captura de pantalla
Anyone else feel like they're in on the ground floor of a really huge title? There's every chance it could just go to shit later on but ONE is an experienced writer and every chapter so far has been incredible in their own ways. Maybe it's just tuned to my tastes, but this is one of the best starts for a manga I've read in years.
>>275263350One has done 4 manga and all of them were amazing (except murata opm which got dragged to hell and became shonenshit), I don't know how he does that
>>275263350I definitely gives me those feelings and personally love it. It’s my favorite ongoing new manga. It serialized now too so hopefully in a year or two it’ll pick up traction and popularity. I would love to see this animated!
>>275263435I really enjoy Versus but I don't really get the feeling from it that it'll be "remembered" as a truly great manga in the end. I get a totally different feeling from this, much more similar to OPM (webcomic) and MP100.
>>275263435Opm writing is clearly handled by Murata it became such a joke of the original
>>275263479Versus has really really good worldbuilding and story, the only downside is that the characters are quite uninteresting and forgettableBug ego though, has really good characters and story
>>275258709>you guys are not needed anymore
>>275263513Yeah don't get me wrong, I love Versus, it started off slow but has evolved into just a really enjoyable, classic feeling battle shonen. I just don't see it being mentioned up there with those other titles when it's over.
>>275263577>classic feeling battle shonenNot really, versus is quite an subversive take on the battle shonen genre actuallyWe should have more authors going for subversive writing instead of all these generic crap isekais
>>275258904I'm actually very curios to see what is on the other side.Anyway, yet again a very good chapter.
>>275263673The premise is subversive, the execution (in my opinion) is classic. Which isn't a bad thing, at all. Most modern battle shonen are too edgy and gratuitous to me, concerned more with appearing gritty and cool than actually delivering on their premises - Versus focuses on the actual battles to such an absurd degree that it really hones in on what I feel makes a good battle shonen tick.
Shit. I thought she was a side character but I'm shocked she's not only a new lead but actually very convincing too
>>275259261Don't post images during a dump retard newfag, wait till after the chapter is fully posted
>moesawa already got replacedNOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>275258824Saint Germain, what are you doing here?
>>275264494>DungDunDung
>>275258253>menhera hairwhy are yamato nadeshiko like this?>>275258931the detailed artstyle is amazing>>275259206again whats her deal? at thta point just contact your closest ISIS branch. plus you can dress like a ninja>>275259525the fuck did she see?
>>275264630We don't know yet what exactly she saw in the gutter, but it was probably just some weird shit, similar to the people Hitsujiya sees walking outside of their copied room. The big eye in the sky Yuki is staring up at is her own, it's meant to reflect that she's been enlightened by a world far bigger than she imagined. What she saw in the gutter is probably not all that important, it's more about the effect it had on her.
>>275259400>>275259437>>275259463>>275259486>>275259507>>275259525Holy fuck i can feel the SOVL radiating off these panelsPure undiluted kino, this would be glorious if done right in anime form
>>275265027I struggle to think of a studio that could pull this series off, the detailed art style that pops in at times is really vital to making the humour and atmosphere work, but would be incredibly straining on animators. Also, wouldn't it have to be adapted at a 1 chapter per episode pace?
>>275265126i'm gonna be very mad if it's a shit studio
>>275264894I don't think it's a representation, I think the hack literally allows her to see a birds eye view of the world, the bros are reacting to seeing the image in the sky too>>275259550
>>275265180You know what, I completely overlooked that. That's even cooler than I imagined then, she literally gained the ability to see the world as bigger than she ever thought it could be, even if only briefly.
>>275265215>girl feeling trapped by society and has no hope for doing what she wants>the hack literally opens her eyes to what the world can hold>fully embraces the goofy hacon club afterwardsI kneel One...
Now that we got more characters i'm curious to see what they became in the first timeline where hitsujiya became homeless
>>275259507That childlike wonder is what I love about anime, seeing new and fantastical things that just blows you away
>>275259872A lot of red herrings for that. I thought the same with Yodomi's flashback in the start of Chapter 3.
>titled "Bug Ego">isn't about actual bugs
>>275268192To be honest, I'm still not sure what the "ego" part of the title actually relates to.
>>275268192it's it bugs retard
do we know if Bug Ego is doing well in Japan?I don't want it to get axed...
>>275268367Could you repeat that real quick? I don't speak ESL
>>275268422ONE has a blank check to do whatever he wants, anonit's not getting axed, especially since it's in Ultra Jump
>>275268422There's not really any way of knowing until it gets a volume release, which hasn't happened yet. It got serialized because of the popularity of the oneshots in the first place, though, so it should be fine. Ultra Jump isn't particularly vicious with axing either, as far as I know.
>>275268521>doesn't know IT>call others eslretard
I think I'm retarded...for most of the chapter I thought she had the power to explode people and then turn back time...especially with those pages >>275259044>>275259075it looked like her explosion knocked off his wig, she even says "oops"...
>>275258635Actually it's called Xing to each other
>>275268729It just fell off while he was swinging his racket
What I enjoy the most about Bug Ego compared to say, Versus, is that it's a "glitch of the month" story which is great for a monthly manga, whereas Versus you get blueballs with every chapter because it takes forever for things to advance. Also each Bug Ego chapter is 50-70 pages.
>people asking "what did she see?!?!?!" a-are you guys for real?Did you really speedread this chapter?
>>275268794it's the first manga that made me laugh in fucking months or years, and i'm fucking depressed
>>275267861Also Hitsujiya's mystery friend that taught him all the mundane hacks.
>>275269510Are you mixing up Hitsujiya and Kokudo? Hitsujiya's hacks are all standard "life hack" type stuff, all the tricks Kokudo knows are from the book, even the mundane stuff. There is the mystery of who wrote the book still.
>>275269579hitsujiya's friend is thet one who taught him those life hacks
>>275257543FUCK YES! I was stoked for it to come out tomorrow, but I guess Xmas came early
>>275269579No, I mean this guy.
>>275258709>Gorri-bro looks so heartbroken that Hitsujiya doesn't actually want to hang outI like that he's warmed up to Hitsujiya I hope we see more of him in the future.>>275260390Im pretty sure its not an actual bomb, just a metaphorical one. It cuts back to her room after she gets a birds-eye view of the world and its no longer ticking.
>>275270372>Gorri-broWhy even cut him out of the party? He's aware of the hack stuff isn't he? He experienced it firsthand in that weird vaudoo statue
>>275268192>he doesn't know
>>275270407I think he'll be back sooner or later and the 5 members on the club sheet will end up investigating the hacks together. The new girl is aware of them now and had her entire worldview changed thanks to the hacks. Gorri-bro had his life saved aswell so It wouldn't surprise me if he comes back later on.
>>275270616and the moecute girl has her brother who's affected by the hack as well so maybe she's aware
>>275270648She also carried Hitsujiya around as he made vacuum noises and was present when everything started going crazy in the museum so she's probably be easy to convince. I'm looking forward to future walking-turned-hack club antics.
>>275270407>Why even cut him out of the party?Considering all the fucked up things those two have been through, I'm guessing it's just because they don't want to involve anyone who doesn't know what they're getting into and could potentially have their lives put in danger. I'm guessing they'll join of their own volition at a later point, still.
I double checked because it seems people were confused if the bomb Yuki kept thinking of was real or not, and some people seemed to think it was Kokudo's clock that Hitsujiya mistook for a bomb in chapter 3, but they're actually completely different. I think it was a real bomb that Yuki had built (or bought somehow? but I'm guessing built since she's academically gifted), and that the ticking of it in her desk, as well as the ticking of the clocks and watches around her, represented her slowly being pushed to a point where she'd actually snap and set the bomb off somewhere. Considering it doesn't tick the last time we saw it in her drawer, I assume she deactivated it after he enlightenment.
>>275270864Jimiko-chan is so cute
Thanks to the person who brought up Shitara's previous series Shinobuna Chiyo in the last thread. Can see why ONE would trust them with the art they're insanely talented while also being really good comedic-timing wise. Also fun to see sort of a proto-version of all the insane faces made all over bug ego.
>>275257543Phenomenal, this chapter rocked my socks off. Yuki seems like she'll be a nice edition to the cast. I doubt any meaningful romantic relationship is going to develop in this series, aside from the love blooming Histujiya and Kokudo, so I'm looking forward to how they'll handle this jaded, stoic into the story. Legit had to pause and admire the spread where Yuki see's the eye in the sky>>275258253>>275258480Why are these girls so erotic
>>275272695>editionexcuse my retardation, I meant addition
>>275272695I doubt romance will be much of a thing in this manga, since it's not something ONE really cares about, but I could see Hitsujiya/Moesawa and Kokudo/Yuki being pairings if push came to shove. There's not really any basis for the latter, it's just that they both have short fluffy hair.
>>275272763>I doubt romance will be much of a thing in this mangaWell moesawa already seems in love with CHADTSUJIYA from how she's looking at him everytime
>>275272606I honestly miss Shitara's old art-style, the special effects spam is annoying
>>275264894>>275265180Her earphone literally drop from the skyIt is probably connected to the gutter
I hope for the sake of everyone getting a boner for Yuki that she wasn't only inteoduced so she could look through the forbidden window to teach us all a lesson about excessive curiosity.
Why can't they let those two join?Look how disappointed they are
>>275274338The bugs are dangerous and they probably don’t want to get them hurt. They’ll probably be friends and eventually join of their own will or get drawn in somehow like how yuki just did.
>>275273462I like bug ego's art-style and find it to be unique. First time I've ever read manga that evokes the feeling of mixed-media with the intruder from the dream chapter being the best example. He looks like a drawn over 3d-model which really adds to the "he really shouldn't be here" feel.
>>275274575>He looks like a drawn over 3d-modelbut pretty much everything that isn't the characters themselves is a drawn-over 3D model or a filtered photo
this is monthly right? can't wait for next month already
>>275274704it's in ultra jump, so yeseasiest way to remember it is that it comes out the same day as jojo
>>275274575I love the digital effects for the hacks and the random hyperrealistic faces, this guy's art is really good
>>275274914Yup, every artist one gets to work with (murata, versus author, bug ego author) all have phenomenal arts, I don't know how he gets them
>>275274338I want more of them, I just don't want them to also make Moesawa a victim of bullying.
>>275258904reminds me of that Racoon San Mansion thing that people once dumped, the kemono friends creepy doujin by that porn artist

>>275263790The recent battle between Demon Lord and Ayyy was great, that artist really delivers on the sense of scale of the Kaijuu and giant forest animals too (not to mention his other manga Nihon Saikyou). Fun all around. Versus feels like One got tired of waiting for Ging and Beyond to make landfall in the Dark Continent and decided to write his own.
>>275268192Bug as in an error in computer term. Not an actual bug as insect.Maybe when the first chapter said "hacks" it was only coming from the translation. Maybe they used the word "bug" in japanese? Can anyone confirm that?
