This chapter really raises the question of what Ruru believes "evil" is. If he's anti-God Clan like the rest of the Ranking committee, I would guess that he senses the presence of a God's magic in the cursed bugpeople. If you pair that with the fact that Ruru doesn't react this way to Bojji and Kage's curses, it would mean that the effects of a Demon's magic are not perceived the same as the God Clan's, despite them both being "types of gods".
>>275260216This is my favorite page. Bojji gets a little anxious that his third strike failed like the ones before it, but he stifles it all on his own. It feels like he might soon figure out how to apply his sword technique to amorphous magic beings (i.e. mud golems) all on his own. Developing his own techniques is part of what makes Ouken an incredible swordsman, so it would be wonderful if Bojji could do it too.
