There was an English-language BL webcomic in the late 2000s called "Honeydew Syndrome", which I had never read or even heard of. It evidently got a low-quality vanity-press print run at some point, and just a few weeks ago I somehow found a copy in a second-hand bookshop next to actual manga by Japanese people. And, honestly, I loved it. The art is actually attractive (and feels more authentic than the typical "OEL manga" of the period), the story is charming, and there's a ton of embarrassing late 2000s internet culture references (V for Vendetta, Mudkips, etc etc). Very soulful and sincere generally. Not a masterpiece in the slightest, but one of the nicest little surprises I've had in a while.
