Anyone else reading this series? I think its one of the more unique LNs out there and the manga adaption so far isn't too shabby either.its extremely slow before shit hits the fan and we get to the second half of the series but that's one of the things I like about it that it takes time with worldbuilding.

wouldn't say the author criticizes religion, but it is an interesting perspective nonetheless. Humans in this setting can't breed with the Shanti (elves). As such, there was a period when the Shanti had enslaved the Kulati (humans). Now that the Shanti have weakened and humans have the upper hand with superior technology(gunpoweder), the tables have completely turned. The gist is that despite the crusaders using the pretext of the Shanti being non-human in their holy texts to plunder their lands, the same arrogance can be seen in multiple Shanti characters who view humans extremely negatively. If the tables were turned, they would likely do the same to them.Ultimately, in a world where there is an obvious biological difference between the Shanti and humans, and they can't even crossbreed, this would obviously cause similar conflicts in real life as well.
