It feels like he legitimately forgot to write about them after the end of Clash of the Titans which is where the relationship peaks and proceeds to go absolutely nowhere. Even with all the other bullshit at least this part of the ending had the potential to be somewhat satisfying if there was actual buildup instead of Eren having an incel spergout after not giving a fuck about her in that way for the entire story
