Sense notes that the special forces don't seem to be making a move. Serie notes that they seem to want to reap the benefits of waiting for their enemies to take each other out. So many powerful and experience mages, but so cautious. How cowardly.Sense retorts that that very lack of courage is what's terrifying about them. Serie remembers that Sense has previously fought them and the Frase had killed three first class mages. This made Serie miserable of course. Sense changed the subject asking if she'll be able to meet the emperor this time. Serie responds that the Emperor will come even if they didn't want to meet with him. She notes that he is cautious and understands the value of appearances so he will come with a larger entourage than hers.

At that point, Serie's thoughts drift back towards the dream.Late at night, the Emperor was wandering through the palace when suddenly a voice asked if he couldn't sleep. The Emperor was speechless and cursed his guards for their incompetence. When he turned he saw Serie, so he asked her, since they were scheduled to meet tomorrow, why was she in a hurry to meet him now? Serie replied that she was running out of time and had something she had to tell him. He agreed, saying there was something he wanted to ask her too, so perhaps they could chat while strolling. She agrees as long as he doesn't do anything inappropriate.

The emperor pondered those words for a moment, then realized something. He went to his study to look at a lantern on his desk, then realized they were in a dream. No wonder Serie was being so reckless. Serie was surprised and asked how he realized it. He explained that the color of the lantern's flame could tell you if you were dreaming or not. And the black flame signified that it was her dream, not his.Serie was convinced but didn't understand why a figment from her dream could have spotted her. Then she looked closely at the lamp and recognized it as one of Flamme's inventions. Who would have thought such a thing would work in a prophetic dream.The emperor was startled. He realized Serie was using a legendary magic from the age of myths to experience a prophetic dream. He was shocked that such a spell actually existed. Serie starts to explain that the magic is no big deal, but she catches herself and says there's no need to explain the principles behind it to a figment of her dream, so he can think what he wants.

He firmly believes this would have catastrophic consequences and must be stopped. He urged her to explain her current situation so he could help. Serie, however, saw through this. She remarks that his apparent concern is a ploy to extract information. She calls him remarkable and notes that since he is self-aware this is actually a shared dream of two people and that both of them are real.

And seeing his sincerity, Serie chose to lay her cards on the table. Convinced that he could be trusted, she proposed an exchange of information. The emperor was confused. He was still trying to persuade Serie, so why would she trust him already? Serie noted that in his heart the emperor believed that the assassination would fail. His mindset made it clear that he wasn't part of the plot.After hearing that he fell silent for a bit as he thought. The he asked her seriously what the future would hold. With a sad expression, Serie replied that she didn't know as she was already dead at that point. She didn't know who killed her or how, or what happened after her death. She said she was fortunate to meet him now like this, as in reality they would not be able to speak freely without disturbances.Serie takes in the scenery and sighs. She says that this way she can prepare her own funeral arrangements. After all, not matter what choices her foolish disciples make, none will agree to a plan that involves her death.She flashed the emperor a confident smile and remarks that they are having a constructive conversation. She then proposes to him that the two of them represent the CMA and the empire in a discussion of how they can reach a mutually beneficial outcome.End of ch.

But the point about her bringing along mages to the ball that surpassed her expectations is one last punt that they can create a future she cannot see. One where she doesn't die.So ofc they will succeed, not least because Frieren is helping them

Frieren's good, but not out-of-the-ordinary good. The manga has pacing issues, often static art in action scenes, etc. It starts off with a decent central hook but then devolves into combat Namek hell. Every few years, normies who haven't seen any other anime in their lives that isn't One Piece, Fairy Tail or whatever other shounen for 7-year old kids is currently airing discover that different anime exist. See also Demon Slayer.Just try to enjoy it for what it is and form your own opinion. Never believe /any/ MAL circlejerk. In order to protect the MA she'll give birth to half-elf successors. Her fertility is low so it'll take months of intense "cuddling" to fertilise her egg. Without breasts the feeding of her babies will have to be done by Methode whose body will produce milk by manipulating her hormones with spells.

Serie's future sight is implied to be far more limited because it is based on her prior judgment of what she thinks she's choosing as the future. She was already wrong once based on not foreseeing Flamme building a trinket even for an 1 in a million event like her dream walking. Something so banal and useless 99% of the time. Serie has now surrounded herself with unpredictable and strange agents that will do things she can't predict or foresee. So obviously she's going to be wrong again as her expectations for others are subverted and they'll do things she couldn't predict or judge ahead of time. But then she'll sacrifice herself anyways.

Sense can't believe that she could ever defeat Ubel because of how fucked their matchup is. Serie's favorite stuffed was shamed because he believed he couldn't kill Frieren, him being shamed is actually what made him realize he actually could kill her.
What if the one killing Serie is Ubel but she's done it by mistake due to some new spell reflecting her magic of cutting all?
