i have no idea what to even think of part 2 at this point, the quality is so up and down. the high points are better than anything in part 1 (early arcs and some of the aging devil arc) but the lows are so weirdly written and boring (church, prison, most of that fight with fsm and falling round 2)

Aki was a complete dick assaulting a teenager because he was convinced he was a bum, he would have continued being a pos if it weren’t for Denji. Why is part 2 so slow? It feels like if I pick any single part 1 chapter at random, I'll get enough plot progression for 5 chapters worth of part 2 chapters. Just take something like the chainsaw pochita transformation arc in part 1. Every one of those chapters you're getting a lot happening at once. Here it feels like I'm just getting edged with constant "cliffhangers" that stop mattering the next chapter, like this was designed for weekly releases rather than designed to be put into a volume.
