薄汚れた札 was the original title. 薄汚れた can be translated as dingy, grimy but it can more literally be translated as slightly dirty (汚 meaning dirt). 千年の無心 (Chitose no Mushin) or "A Thousand Years of Innocence" or "Mindlessness For A Thousand Years" (as it is called here) was published on March 22th, 2017 and March 29, 2017 in Weekly Shonen Sunday. As such, it was published in between these chapters. I'll be posting both parts of it in one thread (unless I hit the image limit and then I'll have to call it early, I guess). Furinkan notes that this was published in between chapter 364 and 365 of Rin-ne and that it was created to celebrate Rumiko Takahashi's milestone of 200 million volumes of her works sold worldwide. This translation is a fanscan. Of course, as unofficial fanscans and translations, they have their own issues but at the least we don't have to worry about flipped art. This does seem to be a different team than the majority of fanscans I've posted, so it does feel a bit different. This version does not have the original color images from the magazine, unfortunately. Given that this hasn't been republished since the original magazines, it does raise the question of what was scanned here, but either way, this is what we have. I will say, the quality of this translation is not ideal. It is a bit frustrating, but as the only available English translation, we will have to deal with it. It does certainly stress how important a good translation/localization is as the dialogue here is very stiff. As for the story itself, you know how Fire Tripper is Inuyasha before Inuyasha? Or how Excuse Me for Being a Dog is Ranma 1/2 before Ranma 1/2? This is kind of Mao before Mao. It touches on some similar stuff. I don't hate it, but it isn't my favorite of her one-shots. Having two chapters does give it a bit more room to breathe, but not as much as I'd like.
