Haven't seen anyone else talk about it so maybe I'm the weird one but I'm kind of disappointed by the depiction of heaven in the finale. Compared to S1 where we only saw a glimpse with the mom's legs and it had a much more mystical/otherworldly feeling to it (even if it was ultimately just a Monty Python reference.) But then we go there in S2 and it feels very mundane and everyone aside from Ramie is just as debauched as the mortals are.I liked it more when I got the feeling that Panty and Stocking had actually been kicked out for being degenerates to angel society and forced to repent (and ultimately end up finding their own place within the mortal world instead) versus S2 where it seems like their parents are just hypocritical assholes I honestly think part of might have been trying to whitewash religious references for fear of controversy so we ended up with a more cartoony or "pagan" version of heaven instead. It feels a lot more like Mt. Olympus and Greek mythology than a Christian concept of heaven, Liniere may as well be a Zeus expy. No one cares but here's my tierlist anyway.NPSG had its moments but none of it truly reached the high highs of the first season for me. The direction used to be tighter and there were boosts of personality and scenes that didn't necessarily call for lots of animated frames but did anyway, which signals to me how much fun was had in putting care into the details.It was occasionally there in NPSG, but it was really undermined by the production with how too many parties that seemingly didn't communicate with each other threw in all their ideas that don't really say anything daring or interesting or relevant to the characters. And in the end no character really learned anything or had to overcome any hurdles. They had something interesting going on with Panty who seemed to get bored of sex, but then there wasn't really an introspective moment for her, because the focus was on Brief.Stocking, Garterbelt and the Demonsisters got an even bigger hit with how much they got their edge sanded off. Polybros were a welcome addition. They grew on me since the Home Alone episode, it utilised them perfectly.
