Just like with part 9 after part 8, how could anyone be looking forward to the part 7 anime after the part 6 one? Did you think DP would suddenly get better and put more effort into it? I think the "SBR wasn't popular in Japan" thing is overblown but it certainly isn't as popular as part 3 was, and so nobody should have expected it to be better than what we've been getting. Especially when the art quality of the part 7 manga did jump pretty high in quality.
