More I reread Naruto, and then look at Boruto the more I feel like Kishi created basically a perfect story and then accidentally entirely fucked the sequel up with no way back and no way to fix it. Even the war arc was basically perfect when you aren't reading it on a week to week basis. And don't get me wrong Boruto could have been good, the movie served the series perfectly to show how things change but remain the sameEverything from Kawaki forward entirely fucks the series though. Android saga, destroying Sasuke's rinnegan, Sasuke and Naruto are trapped in dimensions forever, Naruto loses Kurama, create power levels that entirely invalidate every other power in the series so only two guys can be relevant in any fight for the rest of the series, have some loser kid called Demon be able to beat everyone in the series easily for years even though people kinda hate the character, Aida sucks, spend 14 chapters on a soap opera romance story while Boruto hasn't even been in the village for years which just feels awkward at best, like if Sasuke ran away from the village and Ino and Sakura spent every chapter going "Guuurl get you some" as though he didn't run away and end of the world drama isn't happening, introduce robots that have powers that just supersede every other power entirely and can beat anyone effortlessly, Kawaki himself sucks, every character that sucks is given plot armor to be above everyone while the good characters aren't, Boruto becomes way too distant of a character after the flashforward, entire flashforward is pointless since no one actually advanced they just got new designs, everyone is 10x stronger than the ten tails and madara without effort now like Code, power ups are gained in meaningless ways like candy "I unlocked your potential again", every new character is just really gay, it feels like everything was made to invalidate all the good shit and all the effort it took to get here, and it invalidates it pointlessly.
