Part 2 fails at connecting with it's audience on an emotional level. There is a reason why Gun and Control arcs - and conversely Aki and Makima - are universally the most highly regarded moments/characters of Chainsaw Man, their presentation is dead serious, so much so that Fujimoto probably realized that and sprinkled comedy through Pochita and Kobeni's characters. Part 2 has none of that, the characters feel inhuman and several scenes that the story seems to make an attempt to make you feel for them just fall completely flat, no amount of crazy things happening can make up for that - in fact, I would even argue that the excess of crazy is one of Part 2's main problems.

He knows it's terrible writing. He knows sales are now in the double digits even with the movie coming out. He doesn't care. He wants a Big Lebowski feeling to the plot and is too deep into it to start making it better. Yoru was meant to be the sole focus and then out to be nothing interesting after all because that would be inline with Big Lebowski.
