People bake cookies/brownies or buy snacks and supply booze local to their country. You may not get out what you put in, but remember that giving is the most important part.
please make sure to use a normal email address to send your sign up. if you're sending from some autistic /g/ domain or mail service there is a chance outlook is just going to defer or reject your mail.also on another note, if you all have any favorite Christmas related artworks please post them here and I might use them for OP's and other posts in the future.
>>282930552I see we start with Excel Saga today. Blessed thread already. Didn't expect to see a new one until tomorrow, caught me by surprise.

>>282930552I was just about to write that I didn't get a reply but it turns out it got marked as a spam, first time that happened. So let that be a reminder for everyone to check their spam folders
I'm thinking about doing the handmade tier this year and doing a stained glass piece. Is this something someone would be okay with getting (Finished of course)? Or is this too weird?
>>282931262If I was in that tier I'd fucking love that.
>>282931262I'd be too afraid of it breaking but that is looking really good
>>282931262I'd love something like that.
>>282931262I fucking wish I could make and/receive something this cool. That said the fucking postal service would probably break it just by looking at the package.
>>282931632Isn't there the option to pay a little bit more and mark the thing as "very fragile" to make sure that the delivery people treat it very carefully?
>>282930552>secret s/antaPlease try to get spelling right so the threads are caught by word filters (in my case, to keep them pinned in the catalog above all the decrepit general thread chat rooms).
>>282931856They treat everything the same no matter what you plaster on it. When shipping anything it's on you to package it properly so it lives through falling off a moving train.
This year I barely watched any new (read: old) anime (<30). I've mostly watched drama and Kamen Rider or mostly rewatched shows I already liked. But right on time when I have to make my list I get an intense craving for anime and I'm now consuming shows voraciously. What a cursed joke of a life.
>>282932084I see. Luckily I still have lots of bubble wrap, just in case I need it. Bought too much last year.
>>282930671Last one.
>>282931212You made me check my spam folder. There's only real spam in there, nothing Christmas-related. Sad.
>>282930671I love my butai shoujo. One year, my santa got me the doujinshi with this image in it. I don't think I ever told them, but it is one of my favourite pieces of revstar art. In case you're still around, a late "thank you very much <3" again
Does this still apply?
>>282931262Absolutely sick.I'd probably have difficulties in setting it up anywhere where it's visible very often (Natural light is a scourge upon my soul) but it'd 100% go up on a window regardless.
is there a good ornament making guide out there?
>>282930671Can't believe it's already that time of year! Looking forward to spoiling my anons and glad I injured my hand now and not next month
>the postal un*on doesn't have the money or commercial leverage or public support to hold Christmas hostage againPressing S to spit, I'll actually be able to deliver my cards on time this year.
>>282930671Well I gotta
>>282934285how does that even work? was the union paying people while they didn't work last time or something?
>>282931262I would kill for that. One of a kind pieces for a character who doesn't get merch anyway is why I've moved to the handmade tier.
>>282934306it's why if you work a union job they extract dues out of your paychecks, whatever the boss doesn't skim off the top is a nest egg for sustaining a strike.
>>282934285The previous strike during Christmas was a rotating strike as well.
>>282935054I thought they all walked out? they stopped packages entirely I thought
>>282935054Last Christmas was a national strike. I think the one before that was rotating. They're just bleeding out money and leverage to attrition at this point. Companies have found alternatives and the public couldn't care less about maintaining an increasingly redundant institution.
>>282931172I miss the era of these artstyles
>>282931262I would consider it as hitting the jackpot. My only concern would be making sure it arrived safely.
>>282931262That legitimately looks pretty cool, and it something pretty unique.
I received 2 cards back at the start of February, sorry that it took so long. I likely won't be participating this year seeing how the post is still going to shit but I'm glad I can finally post them on here.Thank you MK of PL I'll have to take a peek at the 2024 album to see who all got the rest of the set of these festive trading cards. I wonder what would happen if I was to assemble all the pieces.
>>282939247>The left legIs this the last one that needed to be posted? Can The Merry One finally be summoned?
I also received a card from RH of OH Unfortunately, there was a mixup with another anon's card, I got theirs and they got mine. I still got to see my card through last year's threads so it's no big deal! You also went crazy on the snacks. I absolutely love sweets so thank you very much!

If you get any late cards and/or gifts, post them in the threads and tell archive anon so it can be added!>>282613601You can look through past years' albums and threads to get ideas for cards and gifts or know what to expect if you're joining for the first time.Let's have another good christmas, anons.
Isn't it way too early for anything Christmas related?
>>282940913sign ups are closed anyway, you're too late, mate.
>>282940836>Let's have another good christmasWe will. Everything will be daijoubou.
Can you only participate in 1 tier and exchange gifts with only one person? I participated last year and i am white listed.Excel is a bit too complex for ny snoothbrain. It only allows 1 as an entry. But can I pick handmade tier both in "white listed only" and also "new friends" so I exchange two gifts this year?I was sure my match from previous year had mentioned by others so I assumed you can get multiple gifts in white listed. But maybe it was all cards
>>282931262>Is it ok if I send a handmade art in a handmade gift exchange You just want to show off your work and want (you)s and attention right? If I am to be your match, I will ghost you and not post your gift itt
>>282941703You can only exchange one gift with one person.
Does santa try to match people with a different person each year?
>>282941930They try, but sometimes you get assigned to the same anon twice in a row, depending on the circumstances. I'm from Yurop and I've been assigned to the same anon in two different occasions because there aren't that many people around here participating within that particular bracket.
>>282941930when I got the same anon for the third time last year, I just wrote to santa and asked for someone elseit's not like I didn't like the fag
Where is the art book tier
>>282942243$75-100. If you're lucky, your Santa might even throw in a plush.
>>282934285Does that mean that we can finally have a Secret S/a/nta event with a functional Canadian mail service? Is this what they call a Christmas miracle?
>>282942410Miniature fags honestly deserve it. If I was rich I would join 100$ tier and send 4-5 random funko pops that are worth about that much in total
>>282942753We have enough pajeets to replace the workers (if they are already not replaced) so they are likely not to riot. Just make sure you wash the envelope thoroughly
AP from PolandVM from CRIt may be too early to ask this, since you guys might not be browsing the threads yet. Have you guys received my cards from last year, or were you missing one? You might've gotten them a bit late so it makes sense they weren't posted, but I would like to know if they've reached you all right.T from GermanyHave you received the last part of my gift? It wasn't much, but I hope it arrived safely...
>>282943151I did but it was a very disappointing and shitty card so I decided to save both of us from the embarrassment and decided not to post it.
>no one posted my horrendous card from last yearThis year will be better I promise
>>282941833It's more a matter of it probably being heavy, large, super fragile, and maybe not to someone's taste. A handmade plushie of your waifu is one thing, but a 4 foot stained glass panel is a bit more than that, right? Plus if it ends up not being something they'dve liked in the first place, I think that'd be a loss on all fronts for everyone, especially considering the time it takes to make and how expensive the materials are. It's something new I leaned this year that I want to share but its kinda big and autistic imo so I'm quite nervous....
>>282943245the chances are low, but if you're one of the anons and genuinely mean that, I don't know what to say. my apologies? I know I would have appreciated receiving a card like that, at least. Maybe my standards are low, but maybe you're a fag.
That thing was too big to be called a gift. Too big, too heavy, too fragile, and too large, it was more like a large hunk of coal.
>>282943323Your initials?
Also I guarantee that shit will be shattered via post
>>282943449NP
>>282943406Kindergarten kids make better doodles you fag, do better next time and send it earlier. It was two weeks late ffs
>>282943420
>>282943489Oh that card was for me. It was kinda bad so I trashed it. I forgot to take a pic and post it.
>>282943520Heh actually that was just my joke card, my REAL card is this year
When it says "How many cards do you want to send", does that mean in addition to your gift? So it'd be gift+card to Anon 1 then a whole seperate card to Anon 2?
>>282943489Okay. I asked just in case because I have one card that I haven't posted yet, but it's not yours.
>>282943497which anon are you?
>>282943595>does that mean in addition to your giftYeah.
Man I don't know what tier to do
You retards are complicit in fucking up the threads when you give attention to the baiting subhumans.
>>282943630I don't want to fully expose myself so you can mail your shit and used condoms to my address.
That 3AM post wasn't realRight
>>282943646If it is not the handmade tier then there is no point in joining

>>282940913Last time a big chunk of fags sent their gifts too late. Most gifts didn't even make it to the new year. People itt are lazy, lolisanta should have started the event even earlier
>>282943735Char isn't gay though
>>282943668Of course it was real. Do you really think someone on 4chan would make up a story like that only to get attention and (You)s? Don't be silly!
I signed up for zero cards, so I don't do a card wishlist right, because I won't be getting one?
someone do it
>>282943905Take a wild guess
>>282943905Nope.
>>282943934I'll do it, but next year. Once my current machine dies for good and I'm forced to buy a new PC, I'll use the old (current) one to write my wishlist on it. Hope the Santas accept it as valid.
>>282943735Are homocards archived in the /ss/ album?>>282944037IIRC that suggestion isn't meant to be taken seriously. In the past someone actually sent a picture and it was a huge hassle for the santas.
>>282944199>Are homocards archivedAffirmative.
>>282943387Just do it anon, if it's something you enjoy doing it's really nice being able to share that with others. Not sure how stained glass works but if you're worried about it being too big maybe you can just reduce the size by only doing the character's face in a frame. Regardless if you do it def wrap it in way more bubble wrap and cardboard than you think you need before shipping. Like others have said I'd love recieving something like that, especially 4ft tall. But seriously ignore the grumps, if someone in the handmade tier doesn't like handmade gifts maybe they shouldn't join the handmade tier.
These threads inadvertently turned me into a stamp collector. I made sure to pick out really cool designs for everyone this year.
>>282943387People are thrilled to get wonky paper dolls of their waifus. They would worship at a stained glass portrait of them.
>>282946612Speaking of that, is the country of Finland still producing cursed anime stamps?
Did you learn any new crafts? I picked up a basic needle felting kit so I might try to send my anon a mangled felt abomination
>>282947683I tried messing around with polymer clay but I'm afraid anon will have to wait until next year to get little clay tree ornaments
>>282947683Thought I'd try my hand at making some basic patterned potholders, since they look easy to do in batches, are useful and easy to fit in an envelope. But they feel quite limiting in what you can do pattern-wise; other than vaguely matching a specific character's color palette, you can't really make any good shapes. Wouldn't mind receiving/making one for myself, but I think I'll go for something else this year.
>>282947683Unfortunately, no. This year has been terrible in so many ways that I didn't even have time to send the Thank You cards that I promised. I'm sorry.
>>282943387>4 feet half-body I mean you could just make one that isn't nearly life size, holy shit.
>>282948500You'd never notice her in the Myon-chapel if she was any smaller!
>>282941930I go full cardsmaxx every year and inevitably get repeats. Doesn't bother me at all unless they always post the same tiny wishlist and I run out of subjects I haven't done before.
>>282943646I always do $25/handmade but I'm kind of tempted to try the $50-$75 this year since it seems a lot of people do that one. just to kind of get some new anons to send stuff to/get matched with
>>282948661some anons are old friends at this point
>>282945450>irumathank you for reminding me I need to binge read to get caught up on the manga
>>28294892950-75, 75-100, and 150+ all have a fair number of participants, so take your pick.
>>28294945325/handmade is probably going to get much more participants this year.
>>282946612>Mom saw the Hitler stamps on the letter from my "Romanian friend".I don't think she really bought the cover story.
>>282948440It's alright, anon. Shitty years exist so we value the good ones more, same with shit anime
I have a card idea that I won't use this year because I have other ideas so I'm throwing it out there for someone else to steal:Buy normal christmas cards from the store, then cut parts out (windows on a house, the contents of a snowglobe, some random people on the card) and replace them with drawings of characters from anons wishlistMaybe one of these pop up type cards but replace Jesus and Mary
>>282950208Thanks for your encouraging words anon, I truly appreciate them.
>>282950493>for someone else to stealMy brain is already stealing your idea and storing it in the "Ideas for cards" folder as we speak. And I will of course credit you properly if I end up using your idea.
>>282943387I used to do really fancy things for my gifts and cards. There's a real risk of over-extending and burning yourself out. You must go into this recognizing you're not going to get even a fraction of the effort back as you're planning on sending out. If you're ok with that, and want to create for the sake of creating and perhaps the chance of making someone's day, then just do it. You'll be glad you did. If you have other motives, be cautious.I do know a few of the more crafty sorts have organized trades here. It's lower risk, but also a fair bit less fun. But it's an option.
>>282951452That'd be cool! There have been a lot of neat stuff people have made in the past right? That's Girls Last Tour tomodachi from that year was a highlight
>>282951624There's scarfanon of course. I've seen someone make custom fumos, someone made a watch with a custom face, etc. There's a lot of really cool stuff. I don't know if any of them want to trade, or how many are even still around though.
>>282951452Don't conflate effort with ability. I rarely get low effort cards (cutouts/doodles/printer stuff) but that doesn't mean the high effort ones look like something Rembrandt would make. It's pretty hard to make something presentable if you're artistically challenged, meanwhile someone that actually knows how to draw could make a 5min sketch that blows it out of the water. Setting a good example while within your means is always a net positive for the event.Gifts are a whole different thing but that's a problem with nigh noone knowing how to buy things and gauge prices correctly and the bracket rules being lax/vague.
It is 2025 grandpa, just feed your match's wishlist to chatgpt and ask it to draw a Christmas card
>>282952559
>>282952559Damn, it works
I've decided I will be sending out custom keychains and sweets again this year with all 13 of my cardsalso CW from CA are you still at the same address? I need to make you a thank you card/surprise for your thank you gift last year
>>282952559I will sent this instead of coal if anon deserves it
>>282943934I did this the first year I joined and sent the screenshot to them
Gotta post a card from February!WH from TXThank you so much for your card. I consider it a great honor to receive such a noble ensemble of beautiful women, because I've never received such a card before. You really included almost everyone! I'm especially flattered that you included Tayama and Vivian. Shiki is gorgeous; I was just recently rewatching KnK to find anime pilgrimage sites. I'm so glad you enjoyed drawing the card, and thank you for the kind words about my taste. The "Novi God" part really surprised me; these guys are a meme here too, and I'm sure they never thought they'd ever be watched on the other side of the planet. Thank you for the warm wishes, and I hope you had a good year!
>>282954120
>>282954150Why is she sad, though? The Christmas is coming!
how much stuff do you guys put on your wishlists
>>282954120other anon, but hi again anon. h-how's the salt dough churchill doing, has it finally returned to dust yet?
>>282954362Had to check. I mentioned 13 different series on my card wishlist this year. Always like to give my anons plenty of stuff to choose from.
>>282954362About 5 each of my favourite anime, manga, characters, and robots. Plus a few extra characters from an anime I liked from this year. So roughly 22-ish things in total.
>>282955111>from an anime I liked from this year Was it about robots?
>>282954362I just list the same 5 touhou characters. As I've gotten older it seems the things I like get more and more narrow
>>282955393No, it was about sentai, gomen Machu.
>>282955696
>modern gundamTry that shit with me and you're getting ramba ral in a bikini.
>i got to make christmas all about me so fuck what you like
>>282956007I see this attitude a lot in these threads
I don't care how long or short someone's list is as long as I can get something for them. For cards it's even fucking easier, you draw something and write a nice little message.
It's so hard to shop for anime merch. Unless you autistically follow releases and pre-order, you're basically sol since most worthwhile stuff gets sold out instantly. You're then stuck with second-hand or worse, scalpers. Not to mention the costs of shipping from Japan, including customs fees/tariffs (and for /ss/, you have to re-ship to your giftee too).I don't do gifts anymore but rationally speaking, handmade and cards are the only tiers that make sense.
>>282956898It's really not that bad buying second hand from Japan on sites like Mandarake. If any anons need help read the guide: buyfags.moe
>>282956898Japs are super autistic regarding secondhand items, so anything marked B+ or higher means it's essentially like new.
>>282957129If the box is slightly dented they go "ITEMU BOXO DAMAGED, WE SO SORRY, HERE IS 2,000 YEN DISCOUNT"
have any of you ever purchased something from a user on MFC, if so how did it go
>>282957205I bought a Drossel Nendoroid many moons ago and it was fine. The guy even marked it as a gift so I didn't have to pay as much when I got hit with a customs bill.
>>282957153>listing says item is possibly damaged, has scratches and scuffs>Order it anyway because its an item I've never seen before>basically brand new, even has the fucking film on it still
>>282957055>>282957129You say this but you will never know for sure what has been done to your second hand anime figurine.
>>282956898Not really, it's pretty easy if you actually think things through and do the appropriate research instead of just stumbling on the first thing you come across and ending up with a 3 digit cost artbook of japanese disney. You can also cut customs costs by a lot this way too.
>>282957349she passed the UV test.
>>282957349You don't know what I'VE done to second hand figgies
Are artbooks really that bad? I put it down on my gift wishlist but is that just asking to be given a overpriced bookstore one? I don't want to be grinched in my price bracket but I really like artbooks and illustration works
>>282957837>ArtbookNever forget. They used to lynch artbooks in the street back in the day
>>282957837Artbooks are fine if that's what you want. People laugh at it because last year a guy paid for an artbook locally that was significantly more expensive than it was online and then I think he tried to pass it for the whole gift in a higher bracket. He went back and made it right by buying more stuff though.
Won’t be doing as many cards but will be doing homo and regular cards! I’m excited to talk about how much i love apothecary diaries this year in all my cards and hopefully the recipient loves it just as much as myself.I also found some great new art supplies this year as well!
>>282930552Stupid question: I lost access to my old email but I've participated in it before, is there any way I can prove that I participated so I can be on the whitelist or am I screwed?

>>282959069I doubt somebody would fake being whitelisted if you just write that in the extra details part of the form you'll be fine probably saying your original email name in it would also be proof enough probably
>>282959069I had the same problem on top of moving to a different address. I just mentioned my old email and address in the additional notes field and they were able to verify whitelist status.

>>282959069if you send us an email and mention what your previous email/address was we can verify it. it's actually pretty common for people to lose access to older emails, so I wouldn't sweat it.

>>28295689890% of my gifts over the past 10 years came from Mandarake, half out of necessity and half out of getting a good deal to get my anon more goodies. Buying currently available merchandise is often just too hard for such a wide variety of tastes unless you just buy popup parades or whatever. If the item is in Unopened condition, 99% of the time it's basically as if you kept it in your closet. Given, I specifically hunted for unopened condition unless not necessary, say an artbook or whatever. No anon has really cared about a ding on a box, and nor would I. It's about intent and giving a damn for your anon.

Excel Saga is one of the best /m/ anime.
>>282966891Because he's lying. We don't even know the initials of the person who sent that stupid book because the receiver never posted them. Very suspicious if you ask me. I've always believed that the book was never a real gift, someone took a picture of a few random items that he already owned and pretended to be upset to cause artificial drama.
>>282967135I've gotta admit something anonI am in fact the anon that sent the bookI signed up, and due to a combination of stress and laziness, I completely left it to the last minute and just panicked bought, I realise I was a complete tard.I'm not sure if I can even redeem myself anymore now that I'm blacklisted
>>282967181Unfortunately for you, I'm a distrustful old man and I no longer believe anyone or anything on the internet. Maybe you really are that person, maybe you're not. Let's talk about this like the adult human beans that we are.>I completely left it to the last minuteHard to believe. And unfortunately I can't exactly prove what I'm about to say because I can't find the thread where this happened, so we both will have to trust my memory. BUT. From what I can remember, the person who sent the book was already talking about sending one, at least one month before Christmas. So it wasn't exactly a "last minute" decision.>and just panicked boughtNo amount of panick in the world would justify that T-shirt that had absolutely nothing to do with anime and manga. If I were in a rush and had to buy something real quick for my anon I would at least choose a generic One Piece or Naruto T-shirt, I dunno. Makes more sense to me that the person who uploaded the picture added a random ugly shirt that he already owned to make his "presents" look even worse.>now that I'm blacklisted I still don't believe you. BUT. If you are real and not just a fragment of my imagination, and you really sent all of that under that bracket... deserved, I guess. Not because of the Ghibli book or the ugly shirt, but because you put zero effort on that "card" that you included. And I can forgive a lot of things, but not a card made without semen. I mean, love. With all of that said, if you can refute any of my points, I will listen gladly.
>I don't believe you cause I'm a based skeptic (intelligent!) yet I will still engage with you just the way I would if I did

Is it really okay to write a big list regardless of tier I worry about coming off as greedy and ruining the spirit of the event
I've always written a novel, but this year I'm not feeling very jolly and only wrote a few sentences and signed up for a few cards.
>>283002404I remember one card that was like>your wishlist was twelve words long>I will write that much also>>283002416>don't know what you like AND there's too many to choose fromUnless there's some commonalities I can glean from the list, I will be sad AND confused>>283002456Do not>>283002603It's literally more detail about yourself and information for anons to use for card-drawing or gift-making, I like my anon having options and not having to struggle to find things if I listed like, five items and they're all out of stock>>283002711I hope you can feel jollier soon, anon
>>283002603If I get a big list, I just read the first couple sentences and go with that. I know other anons prefer big lists as it helps them decide what to get, but I'm not doing that.

>>282930552sent ;)
I think both short and long lists are perfectly valid.
>>283002758>I remember one card that was like>your wishlist was twelve words long>I will write that much alsoWhich is kinda fucked because the santas say outright in the form to keep your wishlist short. Don't punish people for doing what they're told.
I just want a card with my waifu. I don't have many waifus, I only have this one. It's a short list. But you can draw her multiple times if you want.
>>283003416>waifusYou got it right by only having one but fix your vocab

>>283003895I list that one is my waifu for laifu, and that I love her the most. Then I also list other characters I find cool or neat, many of which are girls but a lot are also dudes.
>>283003359I remember arguments about this in the past, which is silly because the Santas have left it unchanged. It says keep it short, I’m keeping it short. Anyone grinching or putting in less effort as a result has no one to blame but themselves.
>>283003895Listing multiple girls is not the same as saying "these are my waifus"
>>283002456Personally I don't mind as long as it's not completely basic. If you list VEG, Frieren, Ghibli, Imagine Dragons and the Shawshank Redemption you better fucking elaborate or I'll give you hell

is the general inquiry section for the santas or for the person you are matched with?
>>283004530The santas
>>283004247What's wrong with VEG, Frieren or Ghibli? You're not allowed to like those on /a/ of all fucking places?
does the "will you send a gift to someone who got grinched" box just automatically match you with a person who got grinched a previous year or does it match you with two people to send gifts toone who got grinched and one not
>>283005067It's for this year's antigrinch, not previous years. And it's a second gift you might or might not be asked to make probably in January depending on antigrinching avalability.
>>283003359>bantz is badIt was mostly a bit of ribbing him for having also just copy+pasted the same wishlist as the year before. I'm not upset with him nor did I put in any less effort to his card than any other, I just thought it was an opportunity for a funny little joke. In fact, I put in more effort figuring matching the same amount of words as I did thinking about writing the rest of my cards.
>>283005871>bantz is badyes
>>283006123Fair enough. I'll make sure to only engage in srs bsns this year
>>283004706You're allowed what you like, but if you list the MAL top 5 and refuse to elaborate, I'll assume you're a basic bitch crossboarder whose only intersection with /a/ is the Netflix "watch next" button

>>283006304>you can't like mainstream things because I said soWhat a faggot.
I better be matched with someone who actually watches anime. I've had to buy gifts for mobile game retards for like two years.
the card wishlist is pretty easy to say a bunch of things I would like to see on a card but when it comes to gifts I can't find the ability to say anything beyond two or three thingsI don't really want to ask for a bunch of stuff just for the sake of it but I don't want to stress the person I am matched with due to a limited selection
My list only contains series where Chisaki Morishita had a main role.
>>283006513If my recipient lists gacha shit or vtubers, I just grinch and sign up with a new PO box the next year
OK, just found that I haven't posted not one, not two, but three cards. Two of them I received in January and the last one in March. I've never got a letter this late, no idea why.Starting from RR from Canada - Thank you for a lovely Hotori, and I hope that you watched/read it till now. We didn't get a lot of snow, unfortunately, but that's a trend from at least a decade now. I adore Areo, I have fond memories from at least a decade ago, for some reason those things were pulled out of most stores long time ago, and it's almost impossible to get them here now.
Why are there so many leafs participating?
do you guys use your actual address or a P.O box
>>283007018Real address, realistically no one is coming to your house.
>>283007226Or so you think.
Next, Anon from Canada - Thanks for the keychain, I'm actually using it for my keys! I really like the drawings and the chocolate was tasty. I'm sorry, but I've lost your initials because I wrote them somewhere in my notes back in January and just cannot find them
>>282993480Anon, loneliness in the military is a real thing your sergeants might get told to keep an eye on to make sure nobody goes nutso. If you tell them you signed up to an exchange for people away from home during the holidays to exchange nerdy cards they'll probably get it. It would not be the first holiday card exchange for people stuck on bases.
>>282993480I highly doubt your sergeants will care unless you're asking for loli stuff
And last, JH from OK - I have no idea why this card came so late. I like the Pochita drawing and the idea of Mob taking it with Reigen, thanks!

>>283007910The worst thing that happens is anon sends you an unenthusiastic card after misreading your wishlist and/or includes stickers of things you're not into and don't know what to do with but it feels wrong to throw out so you end up just holding onto them for years waiting to get assigned an anon who does like them.

I'm worried that my cards might get ruined by weather - it rains A LOT from November onwards, and it usually gets wet inside the mailbox. Would it be too demanding to ask my senders to seal the cards in a plastic film/sleeve or something?
>>283008778>wet inside the mailboxI don't believe you unless you live in a slum.
>>282968920I've used a PO Box for years. It works, with the caveat that only the postal system will deliver to them, but not any private couriers like DHL or FedEx. You can also use Poste Restante, which is when the parcel is addressed to your local post office with your full (!) name on it preceded by "poste restante". Same caveat applies and Germany alone is an exception to the full name thing, since they let you identify yourself on pickup with a pre-shared password instead.

>>283009966>009966Cool digitsAlso, you could write in your wishlist that anons should ask santa for your current address before sending, or something like that
anyone remember that anon with the guitar wishlist
>>283009971Yes. As well as vtuberfags.
>>282989331Haha, one of the more memorable meetups I've had for sure. I hope you're doing well wherever you're at these days. Still out west, or have you shuffled around again?
>>283007259Glad you liked the card, although as much as I wish I was right now I'm not a leaf. Sorry for the tardiness.
>>283009720Given how mad the thread got when Canadian anons met, not sure why you would want that
>>283012040>not sure why you would want thatMy life is boring as shit, nothing ever happens etc. I feel meeting some anon irl would be fun at least.
>>283012040>noooo think of the threadWho gives a shit. If people want to make friends with the same hobbies, go for it.
>>283012040Everyone was fine except for one fucking autist who came from the tarzan general and wouldn't stop making tarzan noises, he was probably a crossboarder from /lit/
>>283012203Dare I ask
>>283012216Don't worry about it anon, you can ask in the tarzan generals if you're really concerned though
>>283010157Anons can send to my parent's house so I'm not worried about that, it's whether I have the time to get my anon stuff and make an EFFORT card.
Can you put something hyper specific, even a link to something you want in your wishlist?
>>283012749At that point you might as well just buy it for yourself
>>283012879NTA but>listing all my interests and the things I already do have and having them figure out something unique and neat>giving a big list of things I don't have, for them to choose from without any pressure about price or lack of stockI don't want to railroad them or leave them guideless, what do? There's also a bunch of things that I wouldn't buy for myself but wouldn't mind having if it was gifted by someone else, like a figure of a B-lister or army-builder
>>283007645Really glad to see you got it, even if belated. When did it arrive? I had definitely sent it out like mid November.
I've been eyeing these threads for the better part of 15 years and I think this year might be the one I finally join in. I have a couple of questions. Is the Handmade/$25 tier more fun or the $25-$50 gift tier? I have zero creativity, but would be down to drop some $ in hopes of getting something handmade from an /a/non. Is the $25-$50 tier gonna be dead in comparison? Is it custom to send a card with your gift? I would like to but like I said I have actual negative creativity.
Card word count progression since I first joined: 80 -> 95 -> 128 -> 263 -> 266The current one is 293 words at the moment, but I haven't turned it in yet.
>>283014529>but I haven't turned it in yet.Be sure to upload it to turnitin.com so we can make sure that you didn't plagiarize your list. You wouldn't want to be blacklisted for anonymous dishonesty, now would you?
>>283014371A card's required with the gift yeah, but I'm pretty sure if it's your first year you can only sign up for handmade/$25 regardless
>>283014597My list was flagged as plagiarism from an extremely unreliable anon from 2020, possibly AI generated and an exemplary display of poor taste. My christmas is ruined now
>>283014371Allow me to overexplain and confuse you even more.>Is the Handmade/$25 tier more fun or the $25-$50 gift tier?Handmade/$25 is kind of a wildcard tier. I've had years where my santas absolutely spoil me rotten, and I've had years where they give me a a bag of handmade cum cookies and a silly card. Keep your expectations low and you'll have a good time.>I have zero creativity, but would be down to drop some $ in hopes of getting something handmade from an /a/non.Just keep in mind you're not guaranteed a handmade gift. I'd even go so far as to say you should assume you won't be receiving one so you don't end up disappointed.>Is the $25-$50 tier gonna be dead in comparison? There's usually less people participating in that tier than the handmade/$25 tier, especially if you're a newer participant, but that shouldn't stop you from picking it if you'd like. You really only need a minimum of three anons per tier for it to work.>Is it custom to send a card with your gift?Mandatory even!>I would like to but like I said I have actual negative creativity.Check out the photo albums of past years >>282940413 for some ideas. You'd be surprised at some of the things you can make with some cardstock, scissors, and some grandma's YouTube tutorial even without any artistic skills.
>>283014371Ignore >>283014846, he is a retard. Handmade/$25 tier is almost always the most fun because anons give you something they put effort into even if it turns out like shit. The rest of the tiers are simply people throwing money at the usual buyfag sites and then prettying up a card to go with what they bought.
>>283015304He's not wrong, I've seen more custom mugs, keychains and manga volumes than I've seen handmade scarfs and dolls.
So what's the solution if you want to do handmade but aren't creative?
>>283015760do basic handmade like leather shoes or mechanical watch
>>283015817No seriously
I'm going to be completely honest and with zero irony, I haven't watched any anime this year and I hardly watch anything last year. I have been doing /ss/ for about 12 years now and I think I only come back to this board to do it every year.Should I sign up again or should I just hang up my hat? If you got me as your anon would you hate me? Please be honest.
>>282986227Hownew.ruWe're able to tell by names outside of the board and by handwriting.
>>283016156>I only come back to this board to do it every year. That is incredibly gay. You should stop participating then.
>>283016156It sounds like you still browse 4chan. Which board did you fuck off to? That’ll be the determining factor. If you say /vt/, then yes, stop participating.
I will post your card next week anon, I promise
>>282957129i literally bought a B+ item 2 months ago and forgot it was second hand by the time it arrived and thought it was new
>>283016156You seem to be in good company, other anons have said similar things. I'd say go for it unless you have shit taste
>>283016156I would never hate you.
>>283016156No big deal anon, I myself have seen maybe 7 shows this year... the number is not important and it's better to watch shows when you feel the time is right. If you force yourself it doesn't seem like it would be memorable.
>>283016156This event is always a good opportunity to feel forced to give some recent anime a chance. Also lots of anons like older series, you'll bei fine.
>>283014842It's over...
>>283017080I would never hate you either, Mikan!
>>283018623I feel like we have this exact same interaction at least once every year.
If someone puts kyoanislop on their list they're getting grinchedWhy don't the Santas filter out normalfags?
>>283018852Johnny, you're the normalfags.
>>283016156This board is dogshit outside the annual events so that's absolutely fine, but not watching anime definitely isn't. I'm here to interact with others with the same passion and love for anime that I have, not people that just feel lonely and take advantage of whatever event to stave it off.
>>283019297NTA but isn't it fine if someone likes older anime, because>the same passion and love for anime that I haveI'm just saying, we better not live in the same city, because my passion can beat up your passion
>>282934427Unions are there to help employees, if people want change in the union then they should vote on it. Only you dumb Americans think paying for fees is a bad thing.
>>283019297I don't watch much anime either. I do read a lot of manga though.
>>283016156tourist
>>283015304>Handmade/$25 tier is almost always the most fun because anons give you something they put effort into even if it turns out like shit. This isn't a guarantee though. Anon could just as easily buy you a prize figure and call it a day. I've been doing the lowest tier for over a decade and I've received handmade gifts maybe 3 times, and a bit more than that if you count homemade cookies.I agree it's the most fun, but don't pretend it's filled with handmade crafts when >>283015672 is more likely. Which is why a lot of us really want a separate handmade tier but that's a different discussion entirely.
if I edit the form, and since santas have the link to it, they will automatically have the latest one, right?
>>283019803I don't think that's how that works. If you edit your original form, you should download it and send it again to them.
>>283019803>santas have the linkThey have no reason to look at it more than once, though. You're supposed to send them another message (same conversation, not a separate mail)
>>283019393Never said anything about watching new anime, on the contrary I'd call it a downside seeing as how everything is shit nowadays. I can outpassion all of /a/ combined just by breathing, consider yourself lucky that you definitely live far away from me or you'd break your kneecaps from the sudden change in elevation just from my visage.
>>283016156Same, I've pretty much stopped watching seasonals but I still read a lot of manga, they aren't super popular so there isn't much discussion beyond a dump thread every now and then so I don't bother coming around anymore. Like the other anon said /ss/ is a good chance to check out shit others like, and I get to force anons to read my favorite mangos. Just keep doing it if you want to, man.
>>283020186Is Tonegawa's manga fully scanlated? The anime was great, so I think the manga would be fun as well. Also need to check out foreman. Felt a bit like filler in the Tonegawa anime but I'm told the manga is great.
>>283020389>Is Tonegawa's manga fully scanlated?Iirc yeah. Hanchou is max comfy.
>>283020389NTA but I think so, but it's harder to find chapters because >>>>>>mangadexI'm not sure if Foreman's still ongoing, but the Ichijou one is done as well. The Foreman one is very silly and fun, and sometimes heartfelt like Tonegawa. The fucking >>>golfing manga by Fukumoto is pretty decent as well. You'll ask what the fuck's going on, but there will be a point where you'll know exactly why it's been recommended. That and you can trust FKMT to know how to depict scumbag losers that both depict something about the human spirit and make you want to root for them anyway.
>>283018852Just for you, I'm adding munto to my list
>>283020604Doesn't Nikaidou Hell Golf have supernatural elements? Sounds intriguing, but aren't translations hilariously behind? God, being an EOP sucks. >That and you can trust FKMT to know how to depict scumbag losers that both depict something about the human spirit and make you want to root for them anyway. No doubts about that.
I always get anons that are pretty close to me, is it weird to ask if they wanna hang out?
>>283021054>spoilerI wouldn't worry about it.>behindAfter mangadex got castrated and comick died, I forgot to catch up on manga again. But yeah, if he could get people to learn mahjong, he can captivate someone with a golfing manga. Think it's harder for us to learn golfing than mahjong, but still.
>>283021095If you play iidx you are cool, I would hang out with you
>>283016776>secret s/a/nta isn’t even for /a/ anons anymoresad
>>283019297>This board is dogshit outside the annual eventsKill yourself
>>283021095Why did they edit the original picture from one dead game to a deader game?
>>283020604The golf manga sucks, FKMT doesn’t know how to write anything but proper gambling.
>>283022955No, YOU suck
>>283021453bugman post
>>283023754you don't know a thing about this series. It's niche among western audiences.
>>283024944Not remotely true
>>283025103Prove me wrong, it's not nearly as popular as arcade games like ITG/DDR. I just thought it would be cool if an /a/non was also a fan of iidx, that's all.
>>283025272Go to any arcade and you’ll see.
>>283019687I am once again pleading for handmade to be it's own tier
>>283025749I gave up on that plead and started making handmade gifts for my whitelist card matches
>>283018852Contrarianism is a disease. Seek help.
>>283025749I've been saying forever that as a hard rule drinks and snacks should NOT be counted in the bracket, but I've seen no change either.
>>283027988>I've been saying forever that as a hard rule drinks and snacks should NOT be counted in the bracketThey aren't though? Same as shipping.
>>283028028I know it's obvious but experience has shown me the exact opposite. Shipping is explicitly stated as not counting towards the bracket whereas the same can't be said for food & drinks.
Santas, if the UK ban happens, will you post my card photos in thread for me? I don't think I can post them with VPN.
>>283028481take a cheap flight to either Ireland or France to post it
>>283028522>hikkineet>having a passport
