Te fact that Asa got mentally fucked up her entire life should be pretty telling about how she really felt about her father's death.People are missing the obvious recurring theme of "useless choices", Asa tripping made no difference whether her father lived or died because her mother killed him before help could arrive anyway.

I cannot fathom how much, in hindsight, making both Denji and Asa the deuteragonist of part2 was a terrible idea. The main point of view changes so often you jump between one or the other every 3 chapters or so to the point you can only wonder who the fuck the actual story of part2 is even about.I vividly remember when chapter 81 dropped back 5 years ago, I was arguing here and on MAL that the sudden death of Power obviously meant the manga was ending soon after because she carried so much of csm, I'd say, "appeal" that the manga couldn't really continue with everyone dead.The thing is, on top of being the main character, Denji was established as basically immortal from the very start which means the entirety of chainsaw man's drama had to fall on the side cast since the beginning of the story. Fujimoto knew this very well by making Denji a reactionnary blank state and making every side character so memorable and likeable in comparison, even the silhouettes like Tendo or Violence.This is where part2 simply cannot work, Fujimoto hasn't been able to make a single decent side character in the last 100 chapters of part2 and each time he tried like with Yuko or Fumiko, they just ended up dead too early or too shallow for anybody to care. Who the fuck am I supposed to give a shit about right now? Asa and Denji have taken so much time for almost nothing that the manga could just go on endlessly in this state of constant status quo.
