Some people keep bringing up how they all need to die to advance the plot, but the real plot is really just Akatsuki trying to capture Naruto, it's irrelevant how many others they've already captured.But if he wants jinchuriki to be the thing that keeps balance of power between the villages and the main story to be about Akatsuki wanting the capture them, then the story arcs should be about just that. The villages should actually use their resources to keep their jinchuriki save or rescure them and the jinchuriki themselves should be extremely powerful. Instead of having Akatsuki work in 2-man teams that walk at the jinchuriki and capture them, they should all have to work together AND be some kind of stealthy or clever in their capture missions. As the plot progresses the jinchuriki should also naturally come together, facing a joint existential threat and Naruto could start learning how to control Kurama before 90% of the manga is over. It would even be more natural for Naruto to learn unique abilities that are related to his jinchuriki (and for that reason unique to him) than him just learning generic techniques like Rasengan and Rasenshuriken that nobody else uses for ... some reason.

Every time i come back to shippuden i keep realizing.Pain was the perfect sendoff. Naruto has gotten everything he ever wanted, and his character arc is basically complete. The only thing left was Sasuke, and Kishi could've easily bumped that fight up to shortly after Pain. Mangekyo Sharingan Sasuke vs Sage Naruto and then he becomes the hokage much like garaa and gets the girl.
