Original title was 悲田院 (Hiden'in) which as you can see VIZ simply romanized. Wikitionary gives the definition as "poorhouse". I don't know if the story covers the historical aspect of the term, but Furinkan has a long note about it so I'll just post that here: "Hidenin (悲田院) were like early hospitals for the impoverished, orphaned and those too ill to care for themselves. Records first mention a structure that bore this name, as a sub-temple of Sennyuji Temple in Nara prior to 794 CE. During the Heian period the capital was moved from Nara to Kyoto and two more hidenin were built, one in the eastern part of the city and the other in the west.Eventually their status as a hospital ward on temple grounds faded, though the historical record is not clear on when this was. By the beginning of the 1300s a new hidenin was built in Kyoto with historical records describing it as a location where four sects of Buddhism (Tendai, Shingon, Zen and Jodo) could all be studied together. No mention was made of it caring for the ill. This all explained in starting in chapter 222. I don't know if Byouki and the master were participants as such, since they just set the whole thing up, but apparently Yurako became a participant just by being present in the shrine via her ayakashi, so maybe the same thing applied to them (although we don't actually know where they Byouki was when the meeting happened).Keep in mind though, we know the Byouki was involved with Natsuno's revival, because he's the one who extended her life with the Taizan Fukun using the ayakashi that had inhabited the master's body, as he directly explains in chapters 182-183. What kind of relationship the Byouki had with Daigo that would lead him to do this is still unclear at this point.

The timeline from what I recall goes like this: Daigo gets shredded -> ??? -> Daigo's soul appears above the manor -> Master ends up holding it and dies -> Sana releases it -> ??? -> It ends up inside Natsuno, probably during the Taizan Fukun. We know that Daigo didn't actually die from being chopped up, so it's likely that his soul still retained some autonomy, and probably managed to arrange the whole Natsuno thing with the Byouki's help, secretly slipping inside her while the cat wasn't looking. Of course, we'd need to know more about what was going on with the master's death to say for sure.
