I think I pinpointed exactly what pisses me off about Watanuki. He's completely unreasonable by both the standards of a person, and the standards of a character.Because on one hand, you can have a character who's just a normal person in a fantastical story, who wants absolutely nothing to do with the story he's a part of, and does what a normal person would do to try to resolve it.And on the other hand, you can have a character be very much made to engage in the story he's a part of, but also behaves in a way that would be annoying if you met them in real life.Watanuki is the worst of both worlds.
