Another solid episode. Why couldn’t the Urusei Yatsura remake have this same level of care? They had the right idea by adapting multiple chapters in a single episode (kinda like the original did before it started stretching 16 pages of fast-paced gag manga into 20 minutes), but everything else, from the designs to the voice acting to the direction, was so fucking dry, man. It felt more like an obligation than anything else.

My only complaint on finishing this spectacular episode was that I had been once more filled with longing thinking about how much better this series could have been if every episode was like this one. What a treat it would have been to have ended the season on such a high note, leaving everyone with a great finale moving into the next year. But such complaints aren't important in light of such a stupendous showing. 11/10. Hats off to MAPPA. Truly brilliant!

Mao is primarily dramatic, but there is a love rival in a sense. The romantic struggles are less prominent and of less importance to the male protagonist, but the female protagonist has her concerns.
