Honestly, I think the "subversiveness" of Kengan is exaggerated, at least in terms of the outcome of the fights. Kuroki is the main exception there. Outside of him, the winner usually isn't super hard to predict, the surprise comes in the specifics of the fights, like how hard Gaolang pressured Agito or Muteba and Seki's dynamic and the ending of the fight.

Kuroki and Lemmy's relationship isn't really explored a ton beyond "friends", but like Seki he strikes me as the type who's loyal enough to anyone he considers close enough to count as a friend, that he wouldn't let people get away with it.
