I'll be storytiming the manga, one complete case per day. Most cases are around 3-6 chapters long.
Feel free to drop in at any time, since it's mostly episodic.

Bikini's are for pure maidens and tsun divorced (but still good looking) mummies. Certainly not for the division's sloppy communal bycicle.

It's really just to remind readers Bourbon is out there. After all, these cases were coming out with months between them, so it was easy to forget plot points.

>>
>>286434484
>Shield Conan from the BO
>Give him dozen of unpatented gadgets
>Whenever Conan needs an escuse or a way out you bolt the fuck out to save his ass
And the one, THE ONE time you need him to give you a hand, he's more busy eating tangerines than worrying about you.
>>
>>286434976
>Shield Conan from the BO
Agasa is the BO director, he uses conan to test his inventions. He's playing both sides
>>
>>286434511
>If he were, we'd already be dead!
This is DC's only problem, at it comes straight from the manga's tight formula. If you read the series closely, you'll realize that thi sisn't just a big throwback, but it's also a little window in SHinichis soul. Think of the climax of Vermouth's arc.
But since the manga NEVER strays from cases, we never get chapters exclusively for character development. On a business perspective I get completely, but it's a bit sad seeing Gosho never at full potential (think of Conan and Takagi's moment in the elevator during the bomb case - Gosho can write some mean terjerkers, but DC format simply doesn't allow him enough space on page).
That little second panel has at least three different meanings. Bravo Vince.

>>
>>286436731
Based. She’s carrying this manga on pure trauma and sarcasm alone.

Best written character in the series and Gosho still keeps her in perpetual suffering limbo while Shinichi speedruns back to Ran every arc. The bus case, Vermouth arc, even this file - every time Ai shows up the tension actually spikes.

She deserves a peaceful life far away from shinigami boy but instead she gets dragged into cooking metaphors and near-death situations.

Ai bros stay losing but we stay loyal.

Depends entirely on the tape and how secured to her face I would think.
Tape isn't like flat rope, anyone who wanted to could probably flex their brows repeatedly to remove it.

Okay, I have to ask, isn't Romance of the Three Kingdoms incomplete? Like, there's no modern version with all the original chapters? Also it's kinda weird that Ran has read it, right? It's like a high schooler who had read the entirety of Don Quixote or The Tale of Genji
>>
>>286460802
>it's kinda weird that Ran has read it, right?
Not really, it's not the first time she recites ancient literature.
Also you gotta remember that zoom zoomers have it differently from someone like Gosho. Once it wasn't that rare to find people knowing text passages by memory.
Once, classics like the Odissey were definitively more known, especially at school.
The moment you could access to wikipedia, google synopsis or ask chatgpt to sum it up for you, learning by memory stopped having it purpose. Also, once people were more used to boredom. The upside was attention to detail and patience, something younger generations lack in spades.
>>
>>286455041
ENTER
I wonder if Gosho thought of his brother by this time, or just shamelessly link him with one of the dead gang (again) later
>>
>>286454969
I like that Gosho wrote the colors because it's a black and white manga.
>>
>>286460802
Not sure what you're trying to ask, but Romance of the Three Kingdom is basically a novel written based on Sangokushi, while Sangokushi is more like a history compilation taken from different annals written by different scholars at that time.
Of course the novel is going to be missing some chapters since the author is going to cut some uninteresting part in Sangokushi, aka the part after Kong Ming died.

You make it sounds like Jodie and Camel will get married and raise little Ai as their daughter.
BO aren't very competent either, Ai lives in Tokyo and goes to school, yet if it weren't for Conan attracting cases BO would be none the wiser Sherry is still alive. Jodie herself lived in America just fine, despite being a living witness to BO activities. So all one really has to do is not stick their nose into BO business.

The former seems kinda normal, no?
>>
>>286461035
>the author is going to cut some uninteresting part in Sangokushi, aka the part after Kong Ming died.
? ROTK covers everything from the Yellow Turban rebellion to Sima Yan's ascension. Zhuge Liang died in chapter 104 out of 120 chapters.
You might be thinking of the 2010 TV series or Yoshikawa Eiji's version. Yoshikawa's version is actually what Nips are referring to when they talk about Three Kingdoms, not Mao Zonggang's edition.

>LGBT
>People who are “women who like women = Lesbians,” “men who like men = Gay,” “attracted to both men and women = Bisexual,” and “whose gender identity differs from their assigned sex at birth = Transgender.” Since most biological species form couples between males and females, Japanese often uses the term “sexual minorities.” While they faced discrimination for a long time, modern society actively promotes efforts to eliminate discrimination under the principle of “accepting diversity.” More municipalities now recognize LGBT couples as having the same rights as married couples.
>Ran: It's said they make up about 9% of the population!
>Gender
>The vague notions of “femininity” and ‘masculinity’ that everyone holds in society. While men and women are born with physical differences in body structure and physiology, this refers to the gender differences that arise from societal and cultural influences experienced throughout life. For example, the idea that “housework and childcare are the mother's job” and “earning money is the father's job” was strong in Japanese society.
However, we are now striving to abandon such assumptions and aim for a society that treats gender fairly.
>Sonoko: Japan's gender equality ranking is 120th out of 153 countries...
>>
>>286460899
>Also you gotta remember that zoom zoomers have it differently from someone like Gosho. Once it wasn't that rare to find people knowing text passages by memory.

FWIW I grew up in the 80's pre-internet and can still quote entire chapters from stuff like Shakespeare, and the Bible and old poetry and classic fiction from memory. It's harder to memorize now because the internet has burned my brain but pre-internet peeps really were reading Charles Dickens and memorizing poetry for fun.

>>286465073
It used to be that way 40 years ago or so, but it's so long that almost all schools use now a selection of chapters for their curriculum. Mine had only like a third of the chapters and even though it was a pretty good selection, I want to read it in it's entirety someday (but it's a daunting task)

Where is this from?
>>
>>286458378
Truly.
>>
>>286458688
>>286461615
At least this one is from a guy who starved to death trapped in a room so he had nothing to do but think and overthink how to convey his dying message.

What irks me is when a victim manages to devise a super cryptic dying message involving wordplay and/or obscure knowledge in the few moments they have after getting shot/stabbed/choked.
>>
>>286471800
It wasn't even the victim's dying message, he just wrote simple message like a normal person, the red wall is from his paranoid friend that found him first.
Dying messages are like that cause Conan is written more like puzzle solving than proper crime investigation, it's easier to have kid detective puzzle out a single crime scene than have him go around town questioning witnesses, and it's also more engaging to the audience.
But nothing will ever beat the stupidity of silver knife meaning Gin was the killer they used in one of the movies, it depended entirely on very minuscule chance that someone observing crime scene ignores perfectly logical explanation, knows BO, is aware they have an agent named Gin, and also knows they have a reason to go after this man.

>If you read the series closely, you'll realize that thi sisn't just a big throwback, but it's also a little window in SHinichis soul. Think of the climax of Vermouth's arc.
What do you mean?

Now compare that to Conan lighting up every time there is a new challenge to get him out of mundane life, and it's obvious the kid is a psychopath.
>>
>>286473821
Korogo's heart is too soft and pure for all the traumatizing shit Conan drags him into. At least 10 years have probably been shaved off his life just from the extra stress.

In the arc, although quite tangentially given the format's problems, Conan comes to terms with his mortality.
This is not the first time given Conan has already risked his life (the bomb case is the main example, but from time to time Conan gets wounded), but it is the first time he actually elaborates on them. And his conclusion is that he's... fucked.
Whenever /a/nons talk about why Shinichi isn't confessing to Ran, the Vermouth case does explains it very well only it doesn't tell it loud: Conan/Shinichi is a dead man walking. The only reason he's alive is because someone isn't talking. And he doesn't know why. For all intents and purposes, he's living on borrowed time.
So, this>>286434511
is at the same time 1 throwback to Conan's conclusions in Vermouth arc, 2 big hint for a future case, because he's using the same words but with a very different expression, 3 face value, 4 reminder for the reader.

>Kanji pun cases
I stick around knowing fully well I'm not going to solve the case unless there's other hints.
>Romance of the three kingdom cases
Doable.
>Mahjong cases
Absolutely impossible, I don't even try. The only mahjong manga I can read is a certain Kaiji arc, and only because it isn't really about mahjong.

Eh, you can't expect many people to stick this long.

Done. Shiratori finally catches a fucking break. Sensei is better than Sato anyways.
There is always only one truth! See you tomorrow!
>>

>Sensei is better than Sato anyways.
undeniable. but she's quite the shotacon, i hope santos doesnt mind.
thanks op.

I love Ai.
>>
>>286475737
It's funny, back when I was reading Conan originally, this was about the point where I dropped it. I just wanted to know who the BO boss was and get the story to a conclusion and got tired of the non-story driven cases.
Re-reading it so far was nice, some cases I remembered quite well, others less. But the daily read makes it quite "digestible", I'm actually looking forward to what comes (even if many said the quality drops even more lol).
In that sense, thanks OP for posting.
>>
>>286477704
I dropped it before clash of red and black and now I'm cruising. Maybe I've been spoiled on some stuff, but other I'm reasonably sure I can predict.
Re-reading taught me that Sonoko is a way better person than I remembered. It's just that she gets along with Shinichi in an abrasive way, but as far as anything else goes she's nice, surprisingly caring and a great friend. She's also female Kogoro in too many ways I hadn't considered, no wonder she's Ran's best friend!

>>286476590
Santos is failing upward so hard it looped back around into destiny. One minute he’s just Existing™, next minute he’s in a cherry blossom shoujo setup with a teacher-tier waifu.

Gosho really said “reward the boy genius” and didn’t elaborate.
>>
>>286476358
ALways found funny that in chapter covers Conan can handle knifes and guns with his tiny hands no problems, but then a BIG ASS CUP shows up and it looks like he can barely close the hand around it
>>
>>286476382
>He knows
Btw I'm 99% positive these two have fucked by this point: Takagi isn't blushing and Sato is unusually cheerful even in front of Shiratori
>>
>>286477006
Never in my life I would have imagined. And I'm positive back then I thought "damn her design reminds me of Sato..."
>>
>>286477006
Quite convenient. Thanks for dumping OP
>>286476358
Wow, that's surprising. Do you speak Spanish, or did you read the English version?
>>
>>286476685
By this point he should let Conan do what he wants because crimes get solved when he's around.
>>
>>286480586
I'm a spic, so the former.
>>
>>286448143
Thank you very much for that spoiler, faggot, I almost got interested in the plot again.
>>
>>286477006
Thx mate.
>>
>>286481147
Hope you learned your lesson, DC is about fishing line and kids playing with corpses
>>
>>286481147
Akai is fucking dead, and you can't survive a fucking gun to head with just a few burns, so if there's someone parading around as him, you can safely guess that it's our master of disguise kaitou kid
>>
>>286477006
Thank you for posting.
>>
>>286481147
Scar Akai is actually not Vermouth, except one time on the train.
If you were really interested in overarching plot, you could easily guess who it is, and the chapter even gives you a hint.
>>

Why do niggas like to throw spoilers around when DC is a mystery series? No wonder the threads keep getting deader.
>>
>>286476495
So this is a different movie? But it also has the same fairy ass scene on it?
>>
>>286486609
sensei's perversions are hardly a mystery.
>>
>>286488522
Yes, the idea is that these movies are cheap, repetitive, use most obvious bait titles, but their intended audience, small children, won't mind anyway. So Gosho reused the drawing to put even more emphasis on it.
>>
>>286477006
Serious Santos solved the crime instantly btw.
>>
>>286479921
I remember someone said that, yeah.
>>
>>286481147
Sorry, that's not a spoiler, that's something that was immediately assumed in the manga, no?
Vermouth baiting FBI in the guise of Akai makes sense.
The way it was phrased does make it sound like a spoiler though, but it wasn't intended as one.
