I am elated I no longer have any emotional attachment to this franchise. Over five years ago, I was rattled by Part 1 's ending being announced and wrote a myriad of cope essays detailing why the story could not end there. I was ultimately correct, but for completely different reasons as Part 2 has done nothing to justify its existence. "Final Chapter" only made me burst out in laughter. I feel practically nothing. This writing is so incoherent and no logical consistency is applied. Why does Pochita consuming himself rewrite history (as with all the other concepts Makima noted, eg. nukes) - but not death, ears, mouth, etc? Logically, a world where Pochita does not exist is a world in which Denji dies due to the heart condition inherited from his mother. But thinking that far ahead or remembering basic lore is asking too much for current Fujimoto. Good riddance. It was obvious a long time ago Fuji stopped caring and was going through the motions. Thankfully, I stopped caring too.
