Haku would've killed Sasuke and Naruto with no hope of survival if not for the fox (hence the first kekkei genkai glazing, Haku's jutsu was enough to dispose of elite ninja). Then there's the sand coffin and sand tsunami, Temari's summon, Kankuro's puppet combo, Neji's 64 trigams, Itachi's tsukuyomi the Shinigami, the chidori, and a whole lot of jutsu that could one shot a ninja. Even Tsunade could kill pretty much anyone with a single blow as noted by Kabuto. It shouldn't be a surprise that elite ninja in the Akatsuki also had the means to kill an enemy beyond any chance of self-defence unless they had a very specific counter for the jutsu (which just so happens to always be the case for these ultimate battle-ending overpowered jutsu for writing reasons).The problem is that by late part 2 we've already seen so much bullshit that we also forget how the power system in Naruto is supposed to work.
