Its a very bleak series of chapters that were dropped right before the hiatus.After Sakura was depowered and the town-wide barrier from the tree weakened, an extremely powerful and ancient magical girl moved in with the intent of all-out demoncide.Sakura sealing Joshua was a gamble to leave a trove of points cards (rewarded for sealing demons) in a place for Momo to find later and use to defeat that magical girl.Unfortunately Momo unwittingly contributed to the demoncide before that happened. Even though she beat that Magical Girl, she never knew if any demons were still alive until Shamiko showed up

People might site a later chapter as "proof", however that wasn't proof.
