The way Asura's cast is written and this chapter showcase how the fighters are generally amicable but also how certain ones have formed their own cliches and friendships. There's a fair number of new pairings just from losers and winners of individual matches becoming friends or solidifying mutual respect between each other. This was established well back after R1 but was honestly present on the boat ride over as well with how fighters were mingling and chilling with each other despite the more volatile environment. Like Seki and Karo drinking together or Kaneda/Chiba running a shogi racket for easy money. But Gaolang said it best; these guys aren't here because they hate each other so once the fights are over there's no reason to be that tense.
I hate how dogshit the world building in this manga is and how Sandro can't let any of the participants in this bloodsport tournament actually die. I hate all the "hecking quirky wholesome" extra chapters, too.

The only thing I like is the idea of a bitter old man who failed after decades of groundwork and decided to turn his last student into a weapon against his enemy. But that could work with scumbag or seeker Mukaku.

Tiger Niko became the sidekick to another Villain known as Luohan and Luohan is his own can of worms I do believe that Shen was in the Asura Drafts somewhere but his involvement in the series wasn't set in stone just yet. For example we have an Omega character named Fei who was meant to fight Waka in Asura. We also have that scene from Asura where one of the ancient Kengan Fighters looked like Ohma. Then you have the Worms being vagueposted here and there in Asura. Shen was almost certainly something thought up early on but Sandro didn't know how to include him just yet. I don't believe his clone Luohan was something pre-planned until he decided he liked Shen more though. Luohan exists to suffer for Shen's sake after becoming a pseudo-good guy and this series still needs a "proper villain"

As someone who read Kengan Asura for the first time via these threads, and found it cool, but really flawed and overall not amazing, I always assumed people were overreacting with how bad Omega supposedly is. Let's face it, the writing of KA isn't all that, so how is that aspect supposed to drop off a cliff? I just assumed it was going to become extremely bland.
